still waiting for improvements

don’t bother playing here unless there has been a month-long drought. rather swampy, despite the claim that the fairways got drainage installed. on the plus side, the greens were in the best condition i’ve ever seen them, they look on the up-and-up.

there was a 4-ball of coffin-dodgers in front of us who were deliberately slow. marshals are non-existent.

Would recommend

Tough course with lots of water. Scenery was really nice and was kept in good condition. Pace of play was too slow though. I teed off at 2.45 and by 6.30 I had only got to the 14th as we were waiting on every tee box. I had to cut the round short. Would like to come back again though.

Early tee Sunday

First tee in the morning, sun just up, a little boggy in places but greens not too bad, bunkers full of water…..

Considering the rain we have had recently the course was in very good condition

The course was in very good condition. A few wet muddy areas but understandable considering. There were a lot of 4 balls out so play was slow. Courses never have any Marshals to move slow players on anymore. The Tee mat didn’t take a tee very well. But for the price it was very good value and quite a challenging course. Would play it again and would recommend it to others.

Great course, but slow

Great course with a lot of water and sand, the 5 hours for the round may have been a one off.

Woolston

Course was in good condition, rough not too long. Fortunately, course wasn’t too busy so got round in good time. Lost a few balls as usual but an enjoyable course to play

First time here, not in bad condition and for £40, we couldn't grumble, good breakfast before we started too.

Challenging

Nice course and clubhouse, including a huge outdoor screen showing the Ashes and the Open. The course has a good array of challenging holes. The fairways were hard and a bit bare in places. The greens were in great nick and pretty quick, with lots of undulations making for some tricky putts. My only gripes, some of the bunkers had barely any sand, and £40 for a buggy, which were apparently gifted by another local club, had definitely seen better days.

Decent course, but slow play

Have to unfortunately join the chorus of folks mentioning slow play. Took 5 & 1/2 hours to play on a Saturday afternoon. Wasn’t one tee box, aside from the first, where we didn’t have to wait for a long time to play. The course was in good shape (greens really receptive even with the hot/dry weather) but certainly spoiled the experience waiting constantly.

Fantastic course

Course overloaded, golfers playing playing at a slow pace not letting people play through , no sand in the bunkers, Greens were to hard , so ball would bounce off the greens ,

Grounds man was watering the Green after we played them . I felt we were let down by the club. Really disappointed with the day.
