Great course
Excellent layout, greens fast and in excellent condition. The fairways are very forgiving, you need a good short game at this course because the greens are difficult. I highly recommend , it's a no brainer.

a great course
This was a great course and the greens are fast and in great shape the tee boxes are as good as they get as well. The only problem was they sent an outing of about 50 plus persons and we had a tee time for 12:25 my dad and I didn't get out to the tee box until almost 1pm so we didn't get done in time it started getting dark on us so we didn't get to play the last 2 holes but all in all this is a great course and very very nice staff

Great Course
Played this course on visit to Sarasota last week. The course is in awesome condition. The greens are great, as are fairways and tee boxes. I am a 10 handicap, and felt the course presented great opportunities to score. The fairways are very generous, and with not too many houses yet lining the course, it gives a very wide open feel, not shared by similar properties in the area.

Third time's a charm, but so were the first two times
Played here for the third time after finding out about it last year and playing it twice then. The course was in very good condition last winter, but is in excellent condition now. I had played University Park the day before which in my mind is always the best around, but frankly, Esplanade was better this day. The fairways were lush, the rough very playable, the greens rolled well and at a comfortably fast speed (though not so fast that you didn't have a chance) and the bunkers were in great shape.
The wind made things a bit difficult today. The course is wide open on the front and many holes on the back, so is greatly affected by wind. As a result, some of the long par 4s into the wind became par 5s for me. I played from the platinum tees (middle) and found it comfortable. I usually drive the ball between 220-240 on a very good drive with little wind. One of our foursome played the next set of tees back (gold?) and he had no problem with the distance. He drives the ball 250-270 off the tee on average. Since wind would often seem to be a factor here due to how wide open it is, I would recommend playing the shorter tees if you feel you are in between. There isn't a lot of trouble to worry about, though the course has plenty of fairway bunkers and many deep pot-like bunkers near some of the greens. Putting can be difficult when the wind is blowing and will affect the roll. Long uphill putts all came up short for me, but being afraid to putt the downhill come-backer downwind was probably in my subconscious head when I weakly stroked those up-hillers.
I reviewed this course last year when I played it the first couple times, but felt I needed to reaffirm my positive comments after playing it again 8 months later. At this point it is a gem. Hard to believe so many people don't know about it yet. Play it while you can. It will eventually be private once the homes are all built, though I don't see that happening for at least another year or two. I think I may try to get in another round here this week instead of playing University Park like I planned. It's a better value. It's 15-20% less expensive and at this moment, I feel it is in better condition all around.

Can't wait to go back!!
I had heard the course was in great shape and it was. Very nice layout with most holes having room for us medium handicaps. (13) Greens were very fast and I love that especially when they run as true as these did. Just a great day on the golf course. There was a slow group in front of us but the ranger talked to them and we did the round in 4:15. My only sorrow is that clearly they will be building lots of homes and going private at some point. The lack of homes made it even better. Can't wait to go back..

Excellent Track
Thoroughly enjoyed my day at Esplanade. The course conditions were excellent. The greens are HUGE, 1 or 2 clubs difference depending on the pin positions and they rolled very true. The pace of play was good, 4 hours on a very busy day. I will be back to play again.

Sehr grosser Andrang von Player. Staff hatte die Lage nicht im Griff. Sehr langsames Spiel wegen gleichzeitigem Tunier. Pro Shop und Restaurant total überfüllt und sehr laut.
First time at esplanade
The first time I have played this course and it was very enjoyable. I would rate university parkway and waterlefe as better courses but some really ice holes and the staff were really friendly.

Beautiful, well conditioned course
Staff was welcoming and friendly. Practice facilities were very nice with a range, putting only green and 2 chipping greens. We played silver tees which were perfect for 2 older guys. Course was in great condition and greens were fast, but fair. Only problem I had was not being able to get course on my sky caddie, and course is not marked very well; fortunately, they hooked us up with 2 ladies and one did have course on her caddie. I drove 45 minutes to the course and paid $50 greens fee; was well worth it!! Joe R

We appreciate your feedback. Although our final clubhouse has not been built yet, we have one of the best temporary golf shops and bars I have ever seen. We are currently building our new Wellness Center, Tikki Bar and Grill, on-course restroom facility, cart barn and maintenance facility and will begin construction on the Clubhouse in the near future. Stayed tuned! Esplanade is getting better and better!

Terrific!
Everything about the experience was first class from the bag drop guys to the front desk crew and the snack counter staff. The starter and the cart return crew were exceptionally friendly. The course itself is a beautiful layout and was in excellent condition especially considering that it poured the night before. The price was a real deal for such a nice course and my wife and I look forward to playing it again.
