Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch

This is a nice course but it could use more yardage markers as it was not on Garmin or Sky Caddie. There are only 250,200,150 and 100 markers nothing on the sprinkler heads as most courses have. Our round was moving at a normal pace till we reached the 11th hole. The threesome in front of us was waiting for the foursome in front of them to finish a hole before even teeing off. Par 4;s and 5's not just par 3's. Then they would hit 2 or 3 balls each cause they did not like their shots. I called the Pro shop from hole 13 and was told the ranger had gone home for the day but they would send someone out. They sent someone to talk to the threesome behind us but never talked to the threesome in front that was causing the delays. I would play Esplanade again but I would ask if a ranger was working that day.

A new course which can only get better when it matures. Fairways are good but will get better with time. The greens compare with the best in the area, true and fast. My only adverse comment is that there are some long drives from green to next tee which adversly affects the pace of play. Staff are great. Long may it rain open to visitors bit I doubt it.

Nice course; however, I was disappointed with the tee boxes. You can play the tips at 6900 or play 6100. I play the in between yardage. There isn't a combo set of tees either. I heard many say how great this place was, but I'm spoiled living in Florida. There are many courses just like this that are more accommodating to the golfer. Staff is great. The greens are wonderful.

Easy checkin, nice driving range, shortgame practice area and putting green. Paired up with another Golfnower. Played the tips around 6800 yds. Course conditions very good, Tees, Fairways, Bunkers in great condition. Greens firm but held good shots. Greens putted true and above meduim speed but not overly fast. Greens appear to be completely recovered from airation but had very thin coat of sand on them not affecting putting. Very nice layout with a nice mix of holes. Tee shots inviting since fairways appear to be wide. Well above average course, definate play and I will return.

Being our first time to play this new course, we were encouraged by the hole lay outs featured on their internet site. When we arrived, it was raining steady, but not heavy, so we decided to stick it out.
The group checking in, in front of us, decided not to play, but we refused to cave in to the elements. Being a new course and void of homes on almost all of the course, we were hoping we had not made the wrong decision. Well, were we ever happy we decided to stay the course, no pun intended. The fairways were plush and well manicured, the layout, a golfer's dream and the greens were flawless, so our putts rolled nice and true, without any bouncing. It stopped raining around hole number three and we ended up with a pleasant and beautiful day, on a gorgeous course. Everyone there, from the pro shop staff, to the cart guys, to the bar/lunch staff, were helpful and very friendly. To anyone asking whether I would recommend this course, my answer would be a resounding 'YES'.

Nice course with excellent landscaping. Feels remote now as most houses aren't built yet. Greens hard as a rock so 3-4 times I hit greens with wedge and still rolled or bounced long. Greens running at least 10 and fairly true. Not long - only 6,700 from back and fairways pretty wide open except 9, 14 and 16. Needs additional bunkering in landing areas to provide definition and challenge for better players.
Range balls included and nice practice area. Clubhouse not built but temporary building decent.

After a lot of rain in the area it was nice to play this course. The conditions are very good with excellent greens. The only thing not up to even a resonable standard is toilet facilities, what a shame.

My 1st time on the course, well maintained, friendly employees.
Putting greens and fairways in excellent shape, trying to book another tee time this week.

Excellent course with fast greens. Range balls are included with a fantastic practice facility. Cooler, ice and water provided. First class operation!

Not a fan of hitting range balls into the water.
The course was in good condition. Fairways very wide.
The greens are still in there early stages of maturing, little bumpy and slow.
I look forward to playing again in the future.

I've played here quite a few time always in great shape greens are fast the ride from hole to hole is a little long but that helps me get the last hole off my minde good or bad love this place if you get a chance I would try it for sure

This is a brand new course, and it looks that way. I was told it has only been open for 6 months and the cart barn is still being built It is in great shape with fast greens and you are provided free range balls. Located in a private community with new houses being built, I highly recommend playing here!

Fun course to play, wide open most of the time but enough trouble to keep you honest. The greens are excellent and challenging to read and putt. A great course to ply before it's discovered and the clubhouse is finished. It won't be long before the houses are finished and you won't be able to get on this course. They're building the clubhouse and cart barns now but all of the golf is ready to go!

This course has some real potential, once it grows up a bit. For some reason the greens are just rock hard, you can't hold anything. Even high lob wedges would hit and bound off the green. The layout is very nice, and everything was in good shape. Because of the hard greens, the putting surface was very fast. They rolled very true. The course is a bit short unless you play the black tees. I typically shy away from the tips on most courses, but wish I had tried them here because the gold was too short for my taste. Until they get the greens softened up a bit, I won't be back.

similar to river strand and stony brook course. Fairway is wide and nice view, but green is very rough, a little bumpy.

WE PLAYED AT 3.38 IT WAS VERY WINDY WHICH MADE SOME OF THE HOLES PLAY REALLY LONG. THE GREENS WERE NOT AS FAST AS THEY USUALLY ARE BUT THEY ROLLED REALLY WELL AND STILL HAD GOOD SPEED TO THEM. THIS COURSE IS VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND IS FUN TO PLAY

This course just opened in February in a new community. You can tell right off they put allot of care into the maintenance of the course and surrounding landscaping. Even though the clubhouse is temporary it to is well appointed. Wide undulating fairways with challenging greens. The holes are very pretty to the eye. You will definitely have fun here, the holes do have teeth but you can score if you’re keeping it in play. It will go private in a year or 2 so play it while you can.
