Mearns Castle Golf Academy

Was a decent little course . It was off mats which is fine . Winter greens were on though . It didn’t state this when I booked though . Almost felt like they weren’t telling people just to get money . Disappointed… having played the course in better weather it’s a decent little course

Green were really sandy. Bits of course very wet although kinda understandable given the level of rain.

Played this for the first time and have to admit I was better than I expected…course in great condition…definitely be back

A bit congested to begin with. Ended up playing with a member to avoid slowing anyone behind us which turned out to be a laugh. Course was in a great condition. Fairways were forgiving. Friendly staff and great facilities.

Haven't played the course in a while but welcome excellent as always. Fun wee 9 holes. Only downside was the greens weren't in the best condition, played near the end of the day and there were a load of pitchmarks on the greens and generally the grass felt long and a little slow.

We bought 9 holes for 3 people but one boy forgot his clubs but we were playing scramble so playing best ball anyways but got told by one of the members/staff we have to only with 2 because one person didn’t have clubs and member will moan so we didn’t but 3 of us tee’d off on the 6th and one of the staff came over being very cheeky asking if we were playing as a 2 or 3 even tho we paid for 3 and didn’t even get a refund for the 3rd person because he couldn’t play and got told if we have problems we have to complain to golf now.

Course was in good condition considering all the rain we have had, friendly staff, range is excellent, nice food and coffee after the round,.

Unfortunately we’re a little disappointed with this course!

The two lads in front of us, brought a young boy with them who wanted to practice his putting skills on the greens. It then slowed down not just us but everybody behind us!

To be honest for the £15.99 we paid there are far better places to play 18 full holes for only £2 more. For 9 holes I think £10 would be a fair price to pay as there’s a few temp tee boxes and it’s quite muddy still in places!

The course was in ok condittion and value for money on Golf Now. It was soft in places and on winter tees which is to be expected. Animals had emtied all the bins and the rubbish was laying everywhere at each tee and there was no water in the ball washers. The greens where dry and ok for March.

Its a good course for a quick practice round.

Played this course recently with my son and despite the weather conditions the fairways and green were in excellent condition. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful and take this oppotunity to thank them for all their assistance. Would definitely return and play this course again. Use to play fairly regularly many years ago and this has given me the desire to play more often again.

Winter greens so it is what it is this time of year. Overall though, tee boxes and fairways in a good condition. Great facilities with the driving range, shop and restaurant.
