Mearns Castle Golf Academy - 10 September
Mearns Castle Golf Academy 9-hole course is a short course but good test of golf. Although a short course, it includes a par-5 often not the case with similar 9-hole courses! The current layout keeps players of all abilities moving round the course!

Good short 9-hole course. - par 33. Greens in very good condition at present.
Rakes for bunkers
Bunkers poor. No rakes which is surprising as would be inexpensive to supply.

This was a great 9 hole course. Great facilities and friendly members. Really enjoyed it.
Means Castle Golf Academy
This is a good 9-hole course with several par-3s and 1 par-5.. It has a good mix of types of hole for a 9-hole course and is straightforward to play. The layout was changed some years ago to speed play up and this has worked well to ensure a steady pace of play even on busy days by judicious use of the par-3 holes.
Decent 9 hole course
Enjoyable nine hole course. Four par 3s and one par 5. A decent challenge for the average golfer and nicely laid out.
My only criticism would be that the fabric of the course is a little shabby, for example a lot of unrepaired divots on the fairways. I don’t think this reflects the efforts of the staff, rather an indication of the course being well used and a victim of its own success in that regard.
I’d definitely play again and would recommend it.
Challenging 9 hole
Challenging 9 hole. Course is in good condition and plays well
Course in terrible condition
Ive been to the driving range a few times and decided to try there 9 hole course. Course itself was not bad but its kept in horrible condition. The mats on the tee boxes are really poor quality and its very swampy everywhere. Also the greens are probably the worst kept ive seen. Staff are great and really friendly and as i said I enjoy the range but the course its in terrible condition.
Tough 9 hole
Pretty tough course, course is well maintained with a driving range adjoining.
Driving range
Went there to hit a few balls at driving range . Nice outlook, but very poor tee areas . The abilty to have different tee heights not customer friendly . Have to lift a very heavy Matt to change your tee heights as you can’t have 2 beside each other without it getting in way of swing . This issue badly needs updated for a better and easier experience.
