New Golfer
Am new to golf and this was my first 18 holes played. As a new course trees etc are small and course very open so easier for a beginner!. Fair mix of holes for someone like me, open but plenty of rough for missed fairways and greens, not too many bunkers and not all flat so a good mix. Good facilities so an enjoyable first outing!
Picked up cheap deal on GolfNow so inexpensive last minute booking.
First time played
I was told this was a new course and as such expected the lake of tress etc. In time when the tress grow it will improve. It would be good to see some water features too. I noted people complaining about the rough, but as the fairways are so open you need some challenges. The course has very relaxed rules on attire etc. It was good value through golf now and will play it again as we know what to expect. Its a new course so i dont know why folks expect it to be established as a 200 year course. Its a good course as its open for beginners.
On the fence
Been wanting to play this course since it opened, for the price we paid for a round it was ok, wouldn't want to play it at full price, very short course, only 9 holes ( 3 diff tees) very wet course and muddy in areas, some greens looked like they have a diesease , lack of ball cleaners on all holes considering the amount of mud, this course in my eyes is good for the hacker and short play, if a member here you would see your handicap cut big time and struggle on a full size course , this isn't a slating, it's just my opinion
Norfolk premier golf.
This course isn’t your typical course although hole layouts are very easy unless you can hit every green then the fairways will ruin your day I’m afraid the rough and green are basically the same ground is very hard and terrible for trying to get unneath the ball, clearly not looked after proplely I would recommend this course to a beginner.
SHAME NO TROLLEYS
The only downside to a good day was to be told no trolleys were allowed on the course because of heavy rainfall on previous day. If I'd known I would have packed my bag harness but had to walk all 18 (2 x 9) holes carrying my bag by the handle. Sure, there was standing water at various points but nowhere my trolley with hedgehog wheels would damage, so I was disappointed. Nonetheless a reasonably good day for all 3 of us (the others both had bag harnesses/straps).
A breath of fresh air
Cracking 9 hole course in amazing condition credit to the green keepers keep up the good work
Nice round
Enjoyed a great round on the new course. Very enjoyable with great facilities.
Great for Beginner
Hadn't played course before but it was nice and local. must be a relatively new course as trees are still young and fairways a little patchy in places, which made playing off them tricky due to such dry weather recently. Vey few bunkers and those that are there are very shallow, no water hazards.
I really enjoyed my round and found the open fairways helped me to relax and play better tee shots. My playing partner is a little better than me and I think he wanted a bit more of a challenge. I didn't realise when I booked that it was only a 9 hole course but you can play twice and the second 9 are from different tee positions. One or 2 holes work well as the holes turn from a straight shot to a dog-leg.
Once the course matures a bit I thik it will be great. also looks possibly like there is room to expand course in future years?
Excellent Experience - Highly Recommended
The course was in excellent condition (could do with some rain though as the fairways were hard in places) and was a fair test. The greens were good with accurate approach shots required in order to stop the ball on the green. It was great to see proper rough - a poor shot should be penalised.
The club shop staff were extremely friendly and helpful - both pre and post round.
I will definitely return
