Dunston Hall

I was all hyped up by golfers from a local pub to play this course. On arrival to the facility you receive a Grand Welcome by the resort buildings. Since I am visiting from the U.S. I was very excited to play a nice British course. I did not bring my clubs on this trip so I had to rent a set from the course. The rental clubs were from the post couple decades and the only recent club was a TaylorMade Sldr driver. We teed off on Hole 1 and I could see the fairways looked dormant or none existent. Apparently the UK is experiencing the worst drought in years and with the water restrictions the course was dead. You are basically got off dirt that is as hard as concrete. This made the round very unpleasant. I keep telling myself that if this course was well maintained it would be a beautiful course with a challenging layout. I will never know since this will be my first and last time playing this course.

Really poor condition at the moment the fairways were like concrete slabs, really slow pace of play.

Really enjoyed the round. Welcoming staff, friendly atmosphere, very good layout and some challenging holes. Overall very enjoyable.

New to golf, but have played a few courses and Dunston was lovely. Greens rolled really nicely. Fairways were lovely. There was a lovely mix of quite challenging holes with some less so. Had a very nice time going round.

Really nice course, some great holes. Good conditions considering the winter we had.

I’m not sure why the older generation of members at this track refuse to acknowledge the etiquette in golf. Playing all over east anglia, Buckinghamshire, Essex and Suffolk you see really positive integration of newer generations of golfers but for some reason there appears to be a huge gap between that and what I experience at this track.

If your slow and hitting it 150 yards then fair enough, good on you for still playing, understand tho that the etiquette is there for a reason and your attitude can spoils the round for others.

That being said, it’s a nice track just understand there may be some hostility’s from members on the way round for having the nerve to have paid for a tee time!

Full of character and in good condition. Blue flags are very difficult to see and more sand needed in bunkers.

Great course, challenging course with trees sidelining each hole, tight fair ways but a great course

I’ve driven past this venue many times into Norwich it always looked good impressive venue .. finally booked around d after visiting and using the driving range last week, I’m looking for a home course to be member. This course and venue ticks all the boxes- not the Tee boxes which need some work doing, the course is a challenging parkland layout with water and trees in play. The greens are fast and in good condition, some shots onto green fronted by water present a challenge, keep on the fairways .. I will be joining I think

The course was in fabulous condition. The greens ran true although a bit variable in speed. The course is in beautiful parkland and features many hazards in just the right places.

The staff were super nice and helpful, the facilities are excellent. Trackman driving range. The range balls were quite expensive at £5.50 for 30 as of March 2025, but this is my only criticism.

Will most definitely be playing this course again Highly recommended.
