Pace of play and greens conditions

Played course today. The pace of play was brutally slow and the Marshalls did nothing help out. The greens were in poor condition as well. Some fun holes and a nice property but needs work

5 hour round

This course has a problem with drainage. Creating card path only days that only increase the time it takes to finish a round. 5 hours to finish a round is just totally unacceptable, Fantastic staff, just won't be back!

Very good course but…

This is a very good course. I’ve been playing it for the last 25 years often on some years a few times some years and none at all. What I will say is this course is challenging no matter your skill level… There needs to be money invested in the greens and I would even say to close for season so that they can redo all their greens. The greens can be patchy. It’s obvious that they put good work into this course. The scenery is beautiful. There’s several holes around water. It’s really good but because of its layout if it rains just a little bit the course is muddy and it’s always going to be cartpath only when it rains just a little bit.

Disappointing course

Thoroughly disappointed in this golf course. This course needs to have a Ranger out there every day. The fact that you can’t get a round of golf in in less than six hours is frankly ridiculous. The fact that they don’t monitor pace of play is even more ridiculous. One person should not take six hours to play the golf on a Tuesday. Staff was friendly but everything else was nothing but disappointing.

Great course but over booked

One of the better public courses in the metro area. But they pack us in like cattle. During the season it’s always slammed. Be ready for 3 groups per hole. Not a fan how they post full price tee times at 4:40pm and later when it’s daylight savings and it’s dark by 6pm. That’s not even 9 holes for most. Thanks!

Excellent Course

Cobblestone is a fantastic course with consistent greens and can play to all handicappers. I played the member tees and due to weather conditions they were upfront. The place was in great condition even with the rainy weather the previous two days. There is not question why this course is rated so high and tough to get a tee time on. It’s a must play!

Beautiful but challenging course

The course is beautiful with several holes set along Lake Acworth, but it is extremely challenging. Shots that are not that far off target can find trouble or difficult lies, and the rough is unforgiving, though not overly long. A couple of the greens were a bit spotty, and a couple fairways had large GUR areas. The sand traps in which I found myself could use more sand. In one my club dug up canvas that runs underneath the sand. Also, I was surprised that the green tees are the most forward and a couple holes still played very long from them. Overall course conditions were very good and pace of play was acceptable.

SLOW ISNT THE WORD

I’ve played this course upwards of 12 times and 90% of the rounds were over 5 hours. They do not manage pace of play at this course at all. The push and fit in rounds and it just causes problems. The group of guys I play with we all shoot mid 70s and it still takes us over 5 hours. The Marshall’s only hold young people accountable and not their good ole boy club members. It’s just not a course I can recommend based on your experience. The shape of the course is great always but it’s not worth the wait.

Beautiful but overcrowded

Just got reminded today why I stopped playing here. It’s bc they overpack the tee times. You’ll have 3 groups of 4 per hole. One group on the tee box, one group on their 2/3 shot and one group on the greens. One employee was telling me they’ve more than doubled their weekly golfers over the last few years. Their hurding is out there while making more than double what they used to

Disappointed!

Cobblestone is almost always a great place to play. Not Labor Day. Greens were terrible and areas were burnt off on several fairways. Most of the greens were cooked. I am not playing there again until 2026.
