Good Public Course
Fairways are in good shape, pace of play was decent, got bogged down at the turn, which is typical at this course. Bunkers were in better shape than they have been. Tee boxes 7/10, par 3’s need a bucket of sand to fix divets, some tee boxes a little rough. Greens need some work, they have new growth coming in which is great, hard to be consisted putting based on condition.
Great Place!
This was a fantastic course. Its very hard though. Super hilly and a lot of tough shots to make. Not many flat lies to hit from outside the tee box. The scenery and the beauty of the course offsets how challenging it is. Overall a great place.
Goat track
For a normally decent course over the past few months it’s been let go. Greens are fast and have horrible patches on them. Course is not cheap and you’d like to see rates drop when conditions are this bad. Staff are typically friendly. The course just has been ruined. Good layout and great location ruined by horrible conditions.
Stuff Course but fun
This course is not one of the easiest to play but the track is manageable. Given the conditions of playing in the rain some and wind I only lost 5 balls. Great views of the lake and the staff is professional and welcoming. Everyone who worked there said hi and that means a lot to me. I am a member of a private club but u will definitely play here again. Highly recommend..
Could be great again
I get there’s not a lot you can do with greens several years past their expiration. Those things are way gone and need replacing. More fair pin positions would be a plus in the meantime. Course needs a lot of work. Rates don’t reflect the current conditions unless you have the local pass.
Good Greens but Rest of Course Needs Work
Solid course overall with some challenging holes that require precision. Although winter time, I was a little disappointed by the conditions of the fairways and tee boxes. Greens overall were good. The starter was very friendly and enjoyed talking to him. Was a busy day so was waiting on every hole, but was moving. Hadn’t played the course in years but just needs a little TLC to be a top notch course.
Pretty and challenging but insanely slow
Booked an afternoon tee time on New Year’s Day. Course was very pretty, especially near the lake. As a high handicap golfer it was challenging but most courses are for me.
The biggest downside was rate of play was insanely slow. My 2 some caught the 3 guys in front of us by hole 2. The 2 some behind us caught up while we waited on the tee box of hole 3 and ended up joining us. Thankfully the views were pretty because most of the round was spent waiting. After 4 hours we only reached 15 before it got too dark to continue. There was no starter or Marshall to keep pace up either.
I’m not sure if it was lower staff for the holiday, being cart path only, people walking, or just overall slow groups that slowed things to a crawl but I hope it’s not the norm. I hope to play here again and actually see the whole course next time but the slow play was brutal.
Great course but
Although it’s a great course you are better off just calling the actual clubhouse because if you pay on golf now it doesn’t go to the club and they make you pay again
Its been a while
Cobblestone is a fine layout that requires precision iron play and creative shots. I have played here in a couple of years. The course conditions were what I expected for late December. The dormant rough was deep enough to make finding your ball difficult.
Good course for any level golfer
We played Cobblestone and enjoyed our round. Weather was 65 degrees and sunny with light winds. The course was clean except for a few greens where the wind was blowing leaves into play. Starter and cart staff were friendly. Play was heavy (day before Thanksgiving) but moved along at a reasonable pace. Course has a good variety of elevation, water, and bunkers for all levels of play. Only drawback was that the greens were rough where resodding/patching was obvious - making the greens very bumpy and hard to read. We will definitely play this course again, though, as it is local and provides a lot of variety.
