Best shot of the day on the 4th hole Photo submitted by Brett4224030 on 10/04/2012
No marshal
A lot of first time player’s. That don’t know anything about pace of play. No marshal to keep things moving.
Great time at Antelope Greens!
Played here for the 3rd time today and have to say out of the sac area, hands down the best bang for your buck for golf!
Another perfect day at Antelope Greens
This was my second visit to AG's but this time I brought my wife. We had a great time, met two other golf lovers a man and a woman which worked out great. From tee's to greens the course is in amazing shape. This will be a regular spot for us going forward. Actually I returned on Sunday to the beautiful all grass driving range and hit a bucket of balls then practiced my putting by the 1st tees. Highly recommended for short game practice and you still get several opportunities to hit your driver. George
Love this place
Play here every time I come to California to visit my grandkids. My wife enjoys it as well. A good place to walk without gettin eshausted.
I made an Ace on the 12th hole. 165 yards with a six iron.
Friendly staff and fellow golfers
Little gem just 15 minutes from home
Antelope Greens is a wonderful 18 hole course, talk about your short game practice. Fourteen par 3's and 4 par 4s to stretch out your wings and pull out the big dog. I truly enjoyed the astounding beauty of the course, the tees were in great shape, the fairways were amazingly green and well cared for, and finally the greens were quick and challenging. Our round was a complete pleasure, it's a popular course so waiting a few minutes at the tees was the norm.. Not a problem, the folks I met during our round were great company. I will definitely be back. George
Recent improvements
The course has several recent improvements such as better pathway routing and better turf conditions. Some of the tee boxes are still rough, but most of the course is in good shape through the green. Greens were a little slow but rolling true.
A challenging short course
Four Par 4s. 14 Par 3s. Each hole offers a kegimate golfing challenge. Even had an island green. Relatively flat so it's easy to walk. Made my second hole in one. Par 3 12th hole. Played 165 yards. Hit a six iron. Very friendly atmosphere.
Just about the golf
Cool little track. Go here to have a good time and work on your short game. Done right, maintenance is good and you can't beat the price. Skip the cart, it's a nice walk.
value for your short game
Beautiful day played in just over 2 hours, course was in great condition.
1st timer at Antelope Greens
$6/40 balls seems reasonable for range balls on an all grass range. Not very many of those left in Sacramento area. Overall the course and greens were in good shape. Antelope greens has several par 4's and the remainder par 3's. It is easily walkable, which I did. Carts are available too.
Sort of strange gem
Strange layout but as long as you have your course map handy you will be fine. This course really shines on the front 9 with the "island" green and also one of the most short and penal holes you will ever encounter. The holes don't have names but I will just go ahead and call that par 3 the "Bobbit."
The course was very well maintained on all fronts. I did notice that a coupe of the tee boxes weren't active but on a pitch and putt hole, you don't really need a proper tee shot anyways. Especially when there were 12 other holes from the Par 3 variety to get that work from. The clubhouse has a nice coziness to it despite it's open concept. However, it was a bummer that all of the TV's were turned off. I wasn't there to watch TV but they helped to contribute to the vibe of a less than enthusiastic welcome from the man behind the counter on a cold and rainy day. He wasn't rude, he was just very neutral which isn't a good thing in the world of customer service.
Anyhow, the golf was fair but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this course for junior golfers. The back 9 being an exception. The issue with the front 9 is that there are too many occasions of hazards for youngsters to lose their balls off of their tee shots. The back 9 is more forgiving.
I will be back to this course for sure as it has a uniqueness to it that is unmatched in the area in terms of it being an 18 hole executive course. I prefer playing 18 unique holes versus running back through the same 9 to get 18 in on a pitch and putt course.
