Black Oak Golf Course

I play this course 30 times a year, and have gotten very used to it. I will tell you to NEVER play on Women's Day! The womans group is rude and will walk into your play at 9am and start their shotgun start without regard to others playing! Then they will play 2-3 shots from every spot, and slow play all your way to the mental sanitarium. So having said that, if you play on a day that is other than WOMEN'S Day... you will have a great time. I find the grounds well manicured, the greens nice and challenging...the fairways free of obstacles except the occasional rock outcropping and lots of Deer. The staff is so very gracious and understanding. They need to purchase new carts, as every time I have been there I have had one problem or another with them, flat tire, will not run etc. Overall I rate this course a solid 4 stars! Auburn Black Oak is a very nice and friendly place to play or pick up a game! Your wait will be minimal and the play is fast! I love this course except on WOMEN'S DAY!

My favorite course for iron play. This course plays to target golf over distance. I drive 300, but my love is in my irons.

Great course to walk. Course was well maintained. Friendly staff. Overall, it had a few challenging holes for a bogey golfer, but with enough playable holes to make for a great experience.

Greens were still slightly sandy from a recent plug but still rolled true. Signature water feature was drained for maintenance, but still one of the best golf values in the area.

Beautiful 9 hole course! Challenging yet very playable in a gorgeous setting. With exception to construction on the 4th hole (still totally playable) the course is in great shape. Staff was accommodating and exceptionally friendly as well. A very enjoyable experience; I'll be back many times!

Muddy in a few places but overall in great shape considering all the rain we've had. Pace was terrific, no waiting fir next shot.

Course is always very clean, great prices on things in the pro shop and friendly staff for the years I've been playing here. One of my home town courses I will never stop playing

Great course in nearby Auburn. Conditions and course were great. I will definitely come back and play again. Staff was very friendly.

Good for all levels of golfers

Love this course! It's nice and quiet and we'll kept up. This course forces you play smart golf if you wanna score well and gives you the opportunity to try to bomb it if you dare.

The staff is always friendly and always act like you're a regular.

The only bad part about this course is that it's only 9 holes! C'mon man! Buy some land around you and put in 9 more!!

Nice coarse, all the greens were in good condition. The only downfall was every long hole was dog leg left, if you drive the ball with a natural cut shot you are at a disadvantage.

Great course on a hot day. Plenty of shade and water stations when you need them. Love the over the water par 3 on #4. Most of the holes require a draw off the tee for right handers and I like hitting draws so it sets up well for me. Obviously, it's tough if your fighting a slice. My 9year old son, wife and I had a great time.

Great course in a beautiful location. Playing 9 holes is just the right amount of golf as it does not take all day.

Friendly staff, the club house could use a little updating.

Takes 2:45 to walk the course with two players who shoot in the 80's. Easy walk, great exercise

Looking to play 9 or 18 this is a comfortable place to play. Challenging but not penalizing.

I purchased the round using GolfNow. $15/player with a cart at 8:30AM on a Sunday morning. No maps on score cards so we were very glad we looked at the map inside where we payed. The man who helped us complained about his staff not being there and seemed frustrated he had to go fetch us a cart. I am a slower golfer and this course was my best time for pace of play. Still too long for most , but I can see the pace being quick. Most holes were big left turns. Old school gas golf carts that were in great condition considering their age. All in all we had a great day and would go back.

A challenge for low handicapper's, but, higher indexers can get around with little or no trouble.
