Black Oak Golf Course

Looking to play 9 or 18 this is a comfortable place to play. Challenging but not penalizing.

Excellent little course in a beautiful setting. I would reccommend this course to anyone.

The level of personal service makes you feel welcome at this nice nine in the trees.

I purchased the round using GolfNow. $15/player with a cart at 8:30AM on a Sunday morning. No maps on score cards so we were very glad we looked at the map inside where we payed. The man who helped us complained about his staff not being there and seemed frustrated he had to go fetch us a cart. I am a slower golfer and this course was my best time for pace of play. Still too long for most , but I can see the pace being quick. Most holes were big left turns. Old school gas golf carts that were in great condition considering their age. All in all we had a great day and would go back.

A challenge for low handicapper's, but, higher indexers can get around with little or no trouble.

This is probably the 30th time we have played this course and it is always a great 9 holes of golf. There is enough variation of hole length, elevation change, and contour on the greens to please us average weekend hackers. The 2 par 5 holes should be easy pars, with a chance of birdie. Number 8 is my favorite due to the long skinny green. You can drive the green with a good tee shot over the trees, but if you are short, it in in the woods!. Highly recommend this course. This is our standard 2/month enjoyable, stress free outing with friends.

This is a wonderful 9 hole course where almost every hole is a left hand dog leg. Each hole is different and it is always fun to play.

Weekend carts vs walkers can be a bit tough. My brother and I -in a cart- followed an extremely slow walking foursome. Players behind us not realizing dropped balls on us at the second hole.We let them play thru. "Let the traffic jam begin!" Many walkers on this course.

9 hole course and is well maintained. Driving range is small area and mats could be better. Course layout is good for higher handicap player. Greens are in good condition

Good course. 9 hole. It's a local course for the regulars. It's way out in auburn so unless you live there it's a drive. Not bad can't complain. Old guy golf, tough for the young crowd

Played Black Oak three times and each time it gets better. Not exceptionally difficult, but it will challenge even the best golfers and walking it is recommended. Staff is friendly and the conditions are always good. The 8 dollar rate on the weekends is amazing and we never had to wait.....done in just under 2 hours and it didn't seem that long. Go to Auburn Ale House after and in the summer check out the Speedway Races at the fairgrounds....

all round great course, fairway very nice, greens are excellent, staff in pro shop and restaurant helpful and friendly even the owners are way cool, I play here 2or 3 times a week. I'm sure you will enjoy your visit.

I live about 2 miles from it and have played it more than any course. It is an excellent course that isn't easy or boring because it's a 9 hole course. I've been told it's actually the hardest 9 hole course in Northern Calif.

Black Oak is a relatively short course with lots of dog-leg lefts. The greens are well kept and not flat. A 2 put is not unusual. The mild weather and ample amount of shade trees make it a beautiful place to meet friends for a relaxing couple hours in the morning or afternoon.

Recently introduced to Black Oak by a friend. Love it! Worth a drive from Sacto. Mature trees, each hole has unique character. Never interference from other hole stray balls, Friendly staff. Easy going personality of staff and course.
