Golfer Reviews
Very challenging
A beautiful course sitting in and among tons of rocks. Very hilly with some blind landing areas. You have to be accurate. We played when it was cart path only. It was very tiring with so much walking uphill and downhill throughout the whole course. There is long distances in between holes and the course runs through a housing development and sits lower than the houses so they are not a problem.. Greens are large, undulated and super fast. Be prepared to have a few 3 putts or more... Tees vary in distances so you have a choice. We were happy to play with someone who played there before as it is difficult to know where to go as the course is spread out over such a large rocky terrain. They also have great practice facilities, well stocked pro shop, and a food bar with outdoor sitting area overlooking the beautiful 18th hole. The staff is very friendly and offer guides to escort you to first tee.
Cannot go wrong
You cannot go wrong with playing either two Verrado courses. Victory has one of the best layouts and views. The conditions get a little spotty on the summer but definitely worth the money and the drive.
One of my favorite courses in Arizona
Beautiful Course! Great layout and conditions!
But I fear that all the houses will ruin it.
Great up and coming course
My dad and I had played the Founders previously and found it quite enjoyable, so this year we went out to try the newer Victory Course.
This course is quite different, being set in more of a quarry setting with rocks and desert being the main, pleasant scenery throughout. Fairways are wide, and the holes are fun to play. Greens were in impeccable shape.
A small negative to point out: a few holes have houses being built quite close to the teeboxes, prone to errant shots; hopefully this doesn't set a trend for further developments.
All in all, Victory has less elevation changes than Founders, and a few more elevated teeboxes could potentially improve its visual appeal; that being said, the setting and fun factor are amazing, and the signature 18th hole is spectacular. Both courses are great, but we give a slight edge to Victory, and we'll be back!
Great Condition and amazing views!
The course was in amazing shape, even after a few days of rain. Greens are the best I’ve played
In the Phoenix area. Rolling around 9. Greens were also very receptive, firm but fair. Highly recommend!
True Greens
Greens were perfect. A lot of holes looked similar, but course was in excellent shape. Staff was fantastic. One of the electric carts ran out of juice, but staff was where we were at right away with a replacement cart. It was a memorable round.
Great course!
Course was in great condition and the weather was terrific! Staff was friendly and our golf rate was good too! We had a 1:15 tee time and barely finished. Course was full so to be expected. Fun day!
Great Shape
This is the best I have seen this course. No cart path restriction like founders. Fairways were lush. My only knock were the greens were slow and shaggy, needed mowing but grass was thick and green. I’ll be back for sure.
Course was in fabulous condition
Course was off cart path only and in fabulous condition. Tee boxes and greens were like peak season. Only disappointment was the pace of play. Only managed 16 holes in 4 hours and 15 minutes. Group in front was very slow - ranger came around a few times, but staff said they anticipate 4 and 1/2 hours typically. Fairways and rough were also in excellent condition. Will play the course again but will allow for 4 and 1/2 hours plus to ensure we get all 18 holes in.
Nice Course
My brother and I played the Victory course for the first time. The course was full and we finished in 4 1/2 hours without delays.
The course was in very good shape, especially the greens which were near perfect. We are seniors and played the Gold tees which are 5,400 yards. A little short but kept us out of trouble and still lots of challenges.
We will definitely return to play Victory next year on our trip to the area.
Great views but sloooww pace.
Beautiful course conditions at a reasonable price. Played the Victory course at Verrado. We had a 1pm tee time and didn’t expect to finish all 18, but didn’t even get to 14!! No course Marshalls to be found and no beer/refreshment cart with temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius(86F). We skipped the huge lines at the remaining tee boxes to make it to the lounge for a sunset beer and they were closed! They shut down at 5pm on a Friday night! Ridiculous......
we did manage to find a great bar/restaurant 5 mins away called the Vic Bar + Kitchen. Awesome views, large outdoor patio and great food.
Would return for the restaurant but doubtful for the golf.
Beautiful course!
Beautiful course and long! Pace of play a little slow as we played in the afternoon on a hot day. Challenging course but accommodates all levels of play. Very nice. We have another tee time set for next week. A good value for the money!
