DeBell Golf Club
About
DeBell Golf Club in Burbank offers an 18-hole Regulation Course and a nine-hole disc golf course. The Regulation Course has a tight layout with narrow fairways and a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is the key to doing well on this golf course but it's not overly punishing. Its risk-reward holes will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. The front nine is fairly challenging but the back nine is where the golf course gets tough. Although DeBell Golf Club is short, only 5,608 yards from the back tees, the blind shots and winding doglegs make it seem much longer than it is. There isn't any water on the golf course but you'll hardly miss its presence with all the other hazards that lurk throughout.

Quiet and beautiful golf course.
I play golf once a week at this course, so it's nice that it's not crowded. It's short, but it's not easy because the fairway is narrow, and it's quite a fun course... It's such a beautiful golf course...
Ok
The 10th hole was closed. First few holes on front nine always screws me up. It’s too tight for me. But all else is fine
Irrigation Issues
Played DeBell for the the third time, first time I thought I was fun and had some interesting shots, and a good, but not great collection of “target golf” style of holes. The front 9 demands crisp irons shots and shaping both ways to score, while the back 9 opens up with more elevation changes as asks for long straight drives off the tee, with accurate approach shots.
The collection of Par 5s are fun and gettable, the par fours are forgettable and the par threes (minus #7) either ask for a 180 - 220 yard tee shot, or an aggressive draw shot around a mountian-side, onto a blind green. They almost seem to be there to add overall yardage to the course.
Teed off early this morning and the playing condition were rough at best. Standing water we’re in most bunkers and felt like you could build a sand castle in them, which were littered with small rocks. Standing water was everywhere, and the turf was either extreme soggy or hard pan. It felt like playing winter golf.
I’m aware and appreciate that the grounds crew is doing its best with the poor irrigation, and I see that they’re working on getting new irrigation in the ground on the back 9, but this place could go from oaky, to borderline great with a proper renovation. Expansion of the Green complexes, re-designing the par 3s to be more interesting, rebuilding the bunkers with sand that doesn’t have marble sized rocks, and getting the irrigation up to snuff would change the course dramatically.
Tight course with small greens!
If you want to get your iron play down, great course. You might lose a ball or two but well worth the drive and experience.
Their parking lot gets crowded on busy days and pace of play is slow on weekends. Weekday play is great!
Maintenance and carts
Course under heavy renovation, many employees on the fairways and around the greens. Better have confidence in your shot to avoid them because they don’t move for the players. Stood at several tee boxes hoping they would but ended up playing around them. The carts were awful, tee time before 730am should be at least kinda clean and fully charge batteries but no such luck. One cart died on 10th so we swapped it and second cart died on 15 and limped the last few holes with some pushes from the replacement cart. Issues that can be fixed though, great course when it’s not being worked on. Will recommend it again in a few years when they finally finish the construction
Beautiful course, but too many par 3’s
Great course… But five par three holes on an 18 whole course leaves you feeling a little bit unsatisfied
