Rating 68.9

DeBell Golf Club in Burbank offers an 18-hole Regulation Course and a nine-hole disc golf course. The Regulation Course has a tight layout with narrow fairways and a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is the key to doing well on this golf course but it's not overly punishing. Its risk-reward holes will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. The front nine is fairly challenging but the back nine is where the golf course gets tough. Although DeBell Golf Club is short, only 5,608 yards from the back tees, the blind shots and winding doglegs make it seem much longer than it is. There isn't any water on the golf course but you'll hardly miss its presence with all the other hazards that lurk throughout.

Great “Spot Golf” for the money

While the greens were slow and a bit haggard on the course (probably from overseeding) the course was challenging and fun. It’s a great test of spot golfing. You’ll have to tee off with irons on half the holes but it’s a great way to test your patience.

DeBell is much improved from the old days

From when I first played this course in the 70s, it is much improved. It is kept in much better shape. My only complaint was about the bunkers. They have dirt and rocks in them, not sand. It was impossible to hit a proper sand shot. The sole would bounce through instead of digging into the sand, causing you to skull the ball. Very frustrating. Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course.

Short but challenging

Not a bad course for the money. Couldn’t play the back nine due to maintenance on the greens. Would play again

Short but challengeable course

First 9 holes are very short courses whose par 4 is between 240 ~ 300 yards. You should be accurate to keep the fairway. Bunkers need to be repaired since their sand is almost hardpan.

Unfriendly Staff

Rounding was good. Pace was good and wasn't backed up. The course was decent. However, the staff at the pro shop was really mean and unfriendly. Maybe he had a bad day.

The golf course is in need of some maintenance that's for sure. The layout is pretty crazy and makes it very difficult to figure out where to hit your ball especially the first time ever playing there. However for the price it's pretty hard to complain my son and I play 18 holes including cart and only paid $30 it is definitely worth playing for that price.

Great price, but...

18 dollars for a round of golf with cart? Amazing, even if the cart was shared with a stranger, as I played as a single. The course was in poor condition. If they marked off all the areas that were GUR, there would be nowhere to play. Sad, because it’s a lovely layout, although short. I did enjoy my playing partner and spending the day golfing, but probably won’t be coming back.

Wednesday mornings are quiet

As some reviewers noted, the rough is thick. I was having trouble with my driver the outing prior, and couldn't get to the range in the days before this round. We arrived at 9:00 am for our 9:30 tee time but the driving range didnt open until 10. So I never took out my driver, just used a 3 iron off the tees and never felt like I was missing out on big distances. A great iron course. Small greens, not too slow, not quick either. Beautiful scenery as you get closer to the mountains. Golf carts were supremely basic

Wry nice morning

Nice morning. One in my north was running late and staff was quite understanding and said to just let them know and we would start then. Long course, I’m not a great golfer but I had a great time.

The Course- Request to Consider

Trim down the grass on either side of fairway. Loose too many balls as it gets berried and don’t want to spend too much time looking for it to keep pace of play. Other than loosing dozen balls, target golf course, took penalties and still shot a 97. Cheers

Fun course

This course has some fun holes with good elevation changes. The views from some holes are beautiful. The course is often short but challenging and in my opinion favors someone good with longer irons. Many holes are just on the short side of using a driver. Some of the shrubbery on the edges of the fairway could stand some cleaning up. A fun course for a reasonable price. I didn’t really use the off course amenities much, but the cafe and shop looked nice enough.

Fun Short Course

A nice course to work on your irons, tight and lots of doglegs. No driver needed until the 10th. IF your a hacker bring at least a dozen balls.
