About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

Played Chino Creek instead of Butterfield
The weather was hot with hardly any breeze until the daily wind picked up around 1:30 in the afternoon. The pace of play was good, with very little delays. Due to the recent extremely hot weather some of the fare ways are starting to dry making the ball roll much farther. Greens are in good condition, except for the many divots which are not fixed by responsible golfers. Enjoyed the silver rented golf carts.

course in good condition, even with the current heat wave
Good day, poor playing on my part.....hit more trees than fare ways today. Golfers need to be reminded to replace their divots, rake out divots in sand traps and fix holes created when their ball makes divot on greens . Good etiquette needs to be practice on the golf course.

Course in good condition..most fare ways in great condition
A very hot day, but nice breeze later in afternoon. Men's restroom at 17th flooded.(toilet tank leaking all over floor). Good idea if at least an employee SHUT OFF THE WATER! Pace was a little slow today. Golfers need to be reminded that their divots on greens should be repaired. Last week my golfing partner and I repaired at least 4-6 divots on each hole on the back nine!

Good value, poorly organized
Great value. They don’t announce who’s on the tee. They should pair up twosomes to quicken the pace. Biggest problem is that they don’t have enough golf carts. Omg. Everyone is waiting for groups to finish up so they can get a cart.
You give a standard response instead of addressing the issues! Do you have a fix? I’m not going there again because of these issues.

Condition of grass around greens is best I have seen on this course in years.
A good day to play in advance of the busy holiday. It was a busy day for duffers, but the pace was very good. An enjoyable day.

Course overall was a great course. Fairways were clean and very nice. Fringe and greens very readable and consistent.

Game a mess, not the course
Love this layout... can always find a way to score here... greens are in good shape and pace was solid today.

I like to play in this course
Nice course, good value for the money. Fairway and green are well maintained. A good course for beginners and intermediate level. But a few holes have bad smells, may be because of the landfills.

Greens are great.
Some areas of the fairways are in need of a little seeding. Greens are rolling true and are well maintained. Pace of play was excellent. 4 hour round today.

Course in good shape with wet spring we have had. greens and fairways really good for this time of year, normally the fairways would be getting brown and spotty, but this year no!
