About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Course challenging
The city needs to put some money into this really nice layout. Course could rate 5 stars with some updating and a parking lot that has looked the same for 30 years. Staff was friendly. Could use some better signage. Round was 5 hours but a lot of places to lose balls!
Same old Prado …. Unfortunately
I haven’t played El Prado (Chino Creek) in 6 years. I’d heard there is new ownership, so we tried it again. The group in front of us made up a five some on the first hole. We then had to wait on every shot. When we told the pro shop, they just shrugged and said nobody listens to them anyway. I saw carts ON tee boxes, guys spraying the ball , which hit a guy in our foursome ( no 4 or warning), also had guy grab my ball from fairway…( I put red dots on my ball, he took from his pocket and gave it back to me )… won’t be back. Good luck to the new owners, they’ll need it.

El Prado is a fun golf course. It has lots of trees a lake and awesome creek that you have to hit over twice.
Course was having 60 MPH winds, couldn't play, no refund
I usually play this course a lot cause it was good. Great Layout, great challenge spot, and acceptable conditions to good condition depending on when you play, but can't complain about the pricing. But now I won't be coming back due to some backhanded I got from them. I went to my tee Time and saw that I was in peak season for 60 MPH winds where My hat was being blown off my head and to the next hole constantly; mixed in with the aerated greens where it was constantly blowing sand into my eyes throughout the holes and fairways, I deemed it unplayable after two holes and went back and leave. before I left they said if I wanted a refund to call GolfNow. GolfNow contacted them to request a refund and the course declined saying that it was "playable" and that once we were out there playing, it was not refundable after telling me to call to get a refund. Never had this warning beforehand. Now that's shady. I don't care about not getting the refund, it was cheap, but don't like being cheated like that. Take my busy with more honest courses.

Staff service needs improvement
The kids working the pro shop needs to be more professional. I had to ask several times for a cart key even though my tee time was 5 minutes away. Sent me outside then back inside. Little frustrated

Turned out nice
We were a little worried that the recent rains may have wrecked the course, but It was in great shape, maybe puddles on the cart paths. We were also chasing the incoming rain scheduled for that day, but it never showed up. We did have to wear jackets for the day.
FYI: The price for a round of golf went up to $66.
Great
I went on a day rain was expected. There were a lot of cancelations. It was great, weather was perfect and very few people were there.
