El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek
About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Course in good condition
The course is in good shape for the winter. Very few bald spots and the bunkers have new sand.
Greens are top notch like always.
Good value golf course
Played Chino Creek 18 hole course. Pace of play wasn’t too bad, but for a Thursday still really packed. Course just had a lot of random holes that were marked with flags making it confusing as it was my first time there. Fairways weren’t that well maintained I was on the fairway at times and I was in dried grass or dirt. But I mean you get what you pay for course was $42 a person riding for 11:06 tee time. Come for the value and just have fun.
Best Bang-for-the-Buck in OC/San Bernadino
Both El Prado courses are a little rough around the edges (and this starts with a parking lot that needs repaving), with various bare patches around the fairways and some wild overgrown areas, but the bunkers, greens (and immediate surroundings), and tee boxes are in good condition.
Two interesting layouts and some challenging holes make this the best bang-for-buck course I play in Orange County / San Bernadino / Inland Empire. Walkers pay only $27 w/ Twilight starting at 12PM!
Hidden Gem.
Nice place good pace of play will be back for sure.

Great value for money
T times were delayed because of the frost conditions by 30 mins, but the pace of play wasn’t impacted. Course conditions were par for the money and course. So far both times I played Chino Creek course, next time, will try to get the other one.
Good layout w/decent greens
Had a 12:50 t-time and got off at about 1:10, had to wait on every hole but did get finished before dark. Best part of the day was they put me with a twosome and another single and all were very compatible and the weather was nearly perfect so made for a good day of golf.

Greens are in great shape
I was impressed with the conditions of the fairways and greens, I played here before and this time was, by far the best conditions it has ever been.
Great way to start the year
Booked this round last minute and although I have played here many times.... I was pleasantly surprised on the overall course conditions. The course is well maintained this time around and I would play here again sooner rather then later based off the good course conditions. The pros shop staff was cool and let me out early and having such good conditions helped in shooting a great round. Great value at $59 compared to other local courses and always a fun time.
Nice forgiving course for working on your game
Course is in decent shape considering it’s winter. Greens are fair and not particularly difficult. Most holes are pretty wide open and bunkers are in much better shape than they were a decade ago when I last played here. No complaints about pace of play, although I did have one of the earlier tee times so hard to say (it was also during a holiday week). Rates were higher than usual but usually they are reasonable, maybe a tad bit pricier than you would want from a course of this caliber. It’s definitely one of the less challenging courses in the inland empire so great for high handicappers like myself to work on game improvement without getting demoralized if you miss too far left or right.

Course in Good Shape
We played at 6:43 the first time of the day. The starter was nice to allow my wife to play also.
It was NOT busy even though they were charging holiday rates. We finished in under 3 hours. There was one group ahead of us and one group behind. The group behind was very slow.
The greens were in really good shape.
Rude and lazy staff, absolutely insufferable
The guys at the pro shop are rude. Don’t greet you and just dog you on entrance. Did not feel welcome from the get go. Also, when I got my cart there was cigar ash in the center. When I asked to change my cart, they allowed and I ask the guy at the pro shop if he could change my cart number to the new cart assigned on the sign off form. He said “oh yeah sure” with the most unconvincing look. Lo and behold I didn’t believe he would do it, I go in 10min later to the pro shop and find my old cart number to my name on the sign off form. I scratch off the old cart number and put my new cart number 140. Just shows they have rude and lazy staff overall. Will be last visit as management has gone downhill.
