About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Really Wet with Long long Grass
We played early at 6:24 AM so the pace was great. The tees boxes are way up since they haven’t kept up with the mowing cause of all the rains. It’s very easy to loose a ball unless on the short grass. The greens were plush. We finished in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Very Slow with No Marshall
We played as a foursome and the conditions are very rough. They haven’t mowed in over a week. The group ahead of us thought they were pros. It took 3 hours to play the front nine. The back nine was two hours up to 14. We quit cause we couldn’t take it anymore waiting 10-20 minutes on every hole. Do not play here on the weekend!

Punched Greens and Heavy Rough
I wish there was a sign or display letting the golfer know that the greens are punched before they book. Also, the rough was really thick and heavy. Any ball outside of the fairway was lost.

Course not ready for play
Due to rains, overgrown grass on fairways and third cut. Shounot be charging full price under these conditions

Terrible condition
The greens were in bad conditions. The greens were arified not too long ago and were covered with sand. Most greens were either full of sand or no grass at all. The balls won’t run even with good efforts. In one word: TERRIBLE.

Something new
Third this course for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Forgiving and challenging with quick greens. The employees were very friendly and pointed me in the right direction and answered all my first time at a new course stupid questions.

Slow Play
On a visit to SoCal, a friend and I played a round, or at least tried to. We had to quit after 16 holes and 4 1/2 hours to leave for an appointment. Not really expected on a week day.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Great course great value
Playing at el prado is great...cool staff, driving range is actuall turf, but if like two or three drops of water fall from the sky the driving range is closed for a week, but a great practice facility none the less. My only thing since covid there hasn't been any ball washers...El Prado covid is over put them back in....
