About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Rough is VERY Rough
The conditions are pretty good with the recent rains. The greens are nice as usual. The tee boxes are great, BUT the rough is too rough. If you hit the ball in the rough you most likely will lose the ball. PLEASE mow the rough.
Pace too slow
The course should require each player to have their own clubs. The group ahead of us has four players but only 2 sets of clubs. They spent lots of time waiting for other players club which slow down the pace of play

Greens & Fairways are in great shape
Another really good round at El Prado. The greens were in great shape and rolling well. The fairways, after all our recent rains, were really filled in and lush. Bring some mosquito repellant, as the bugs are bad after all of our rain the past 4 months. Overall, really good.

El Prado
El Prado has 2 courses, both normally play with decent conditions. Easy to book a tee time, prices are fair with cart included.

El Prado
Nice day on the course. Rough was a little bit longer than in the past, making it tough to hit out of and finding your ball if not in the fairway.
Course bad, Staff great
Arrived, the Proshop staff very friendly. Gave us our carts prior to Teetime very friendly. Waited until the Collegiate Players teed-off. moment later we hit Hole# 1 at Chino Creek. Apparently caught up with the Collegiate players and from then...VERY SLOW pace. Students were walking taking their time. Playing and joking among themselves. Teachers/Coach were not very considerate about their pace as if they own the golf course. At one hole, it took almost 45 minutes for the group to finish. Also, the course was just mowed and still too thick. Golf balls just disappeared due to thick grass. The greens were not well maintained. Balls bouncing during putts. Lost many balls. No discipline on the Collegiate players.

Course is looking gorgeous after all the rain.
The course is starting to look very very nice. They were finally able to be the mowers in the rough and start thinning things out. The fairways are nicely defined and in good shape.

Need improvement on course
Grass to long. Need more care on the Fairway. Rough was too long one you miss the Fairway it was really difficult to find it. 😕
