El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek

Slow pace of play, two some in front did not offer to play through even though there is one full hole open! That is fine, I end up team up with another single player

I have traveled around the US in the pass 15 years and this course has to be the worst I've ever played. The t-box and fairways were in bad condition, soaked in some areas and no grass in some other areas. Plus, the greens had some growth going on and it made it bad for putting. Then to top it off, the starters let two groups jump in front of us on hole #10. That slowed our play by 10 minutes, so it took an extra 30 minutes to finish.

The course played well, just very slow. Group in front of us would hit 2 balls each off the tee - cumulative yardage about 100. Then go to find and slowly make their way down the fairway. The group in front of them wasn't much better. We actually skipped 2 holes and 3 groups to find an open hole and played from there.

Course is in better shape then anytime in the past. Only problem is pace of place. This round was brutal. No Marshall to keep pace. 4 groups packed at 10. Waited on every shot in the back.

El Prado-Chino Creek Course was fun to play. It was uncrowded and a well designed golf course. It is a challenging course. We played from the blue tees, but it still would have been hard from the white tees. Some fairways are narrow and the wind plays a part in making it difficult. Yet, it was still fun to play because you can make pars and birdies if you concentrate. You won't bully this course but it won't bully you either. It is a scenic, relaxing, solid test of golf. It is not fancy nor manicured. There are dry patches, divots, other unkempt areas. However, overall it is maintained sufficiently to allow normal golf play. It is worth the price.

We followed a foursome of decent players. They followed a SIXSOME of guys that were hitting balls all over the place.

Issue was allowing 6 people on a busy day. We left after 3:5 hours to play 9 holes.

That’s it…….

3 hrs 20 minute round walking, greens were in great shape, very fun track to play.

Saw a great price for the next day, made the reservation. Very much enjoyed the course. The only down side was the group in front of us was very slow, but still played in 4-1/4 hours.

Great layout. I will be back.

Nice layout but need the course condition improvement

I've played el Prado many times over the last couple years and have not had a bad or forgettable round during that time. Some have been better than others, but none have been bad.

Course(s) are in good shape tee through green. Neither course is immaculate, but definitely better than other close by courses that charge more, a lot more in some cases. For the money being paid there for a round the course is in better shape than many would expect. Any of the staff that I've ever encountered are friendly and pleasant. Snack bar is pretty good and reasonably priced. The lady in there is very friendly as well. Carts are in ok shape, it seems like a few of em might be on their way out, I've never had an issue with one, but have seen a couple with tire or battery issues while on the course. The staff is good about bringing out a new one from what I've sssj

Best part of my recent round there was the 3:15 pace of play, albeit on a Monday midday with 92f temps. Still an above average pace of play though.

To summarize, good price for a pretty well maintained course with a friendly staff and an above average weekday pace of play. Again and as usual I have no complaints about el Prado and would recommend it without reservation, especially on a weekday.
