El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek
About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Course is in pretty good shape & we played 18 in 3:15
I've played el Prado many times over the last couple years and have not had a bad or forgettable round during that time. Some have been better than others, but none have been bad.
Course(s) are in good shape tee through green. Neither course is immaculate, but definitely better than other close by courses that charge more, a lot more in some cases. For the money being paid there for a round the course is in better shape than many would expect. Any of the staff that I've ever encountered are friendly and pleasant. Snack bar is pretty good and reasonably priced. The lady in there is very friendly as well. Carts are in ok shape, it seems like a few of em might be on their way out, I've never had an issue with one, but have seen a couple with tire or battery issues while on the course. The staff is good about bringing out a new one from what I've sssj
Best part of my recent round there was the 3:15 pace of play, albeit on a Monday midday with 92f temps. Still an above average pace of play though.
To summarize, good price for a pretty well maintained course with a friendly staff and an above average weekday pace of play. Again and as usual I have no complaints about el Prado and would recommend it without reservation, especially on a weekday.
Fairways are Really Nice for Summer!
The course was in really good shape for the summer.
El Prado is VERY fortunate to have the luxury of reclaimed water. The tee boxes were good. The fairways were especially good. AND the greens were excellent. We played in the morning 5:51 am and the pace was 2.5 hours with a twosome. That was OUTSTANDING!
Thank you for a great round!
Good course, friendly staff, great value. I just wish they would put ball washers back in. They got one in the pro shop. Put that bad boy to good use and put it out on the course...just saying.
Smiling Kevin
Our cart died on us twice in one round and they had to switch out the carts. We had to push the dead carts to move away from the fairways for other players while waiting. After the round, we went to see the pro shop manager, Kevin, to notify the issues and asked if he can extend any concession. Instead of any apologies, he stated that “our staffs switched out the carts and what else do you need”. He had a fake smile on his face and gave us contemptuous look. He needs to get some training how to treat their customers with respect. I am not going back to the course again!
Fun round
The course has different types of holes to challenge your game. Fairways and greens were kept in pretty good conditions. It can be really bad if you hit it wide. Greens are relatively small. Few par-3s -are long. It’s fun to spend the afternoon in a relaxing manner to practice your shots.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek.
