A few observations
This course is good and with a few simple changes could be great. One, beverages: no water or way for golfer to hydrate. Two: sand to repair divots, this course is not gonna survive the summer with all the new golfers out playing these days. Pro shop, why is not open? everything else is wide open but pro shop still closed.
Brown's Mill was Great!
The Mill was in great shape, though the Pro Shop remains closed due to Covid.
Tee time issues
You have to use an app to book a tee time. I booked for 9 holes but was charged for 18. The people in charge of booking had no clue because it was booked through an app.
Clubhouse is closed. No bathrooms. Period.
I will not play there again.
Looking for a partial refund
I played last Saturday with 3 friends and unfortunately it was raining the entire time. No big deal though, that isn't the issue. However, we tried calling the course at least 30 times in the 2 hours prior to our tee time to see if the course was closed and how that would impact a potential refund. The phone was never answered. So we drove out there and upon arriving learned that they were not letting any carts out, only walkers. So we walked, and only ended up getting 9 holes in because of the weather. However, we each paid for 18 holes with a cart. I'm not expecting a refund on the 9 holes we didn't play, because it was our choice to stop (even though the course likely should have been closed), but I would expect a refund on the cart fee for the 4 of us. If someone could please contact me regarding this refund it would be much appreciated.
Shhhh. Don't let out the secret.
Hidden Gem. Don't tell anyone about this place. I don't want it getting too busy.
I've been playing here after work for the past few years. Super laid back and you can bounce around. I usually walk 9, and some days i can get through the back in just over an hour if you catch a gap. The back 9 is such an easy walk and has plenty of birdie chances. The front is a little tougher and a bit harder to jump around on.
The greens have been in great shape since the city bought the course a couple of years ago. Can't beat it for the price in the afternoon.
If you're a forepass member it's free to walk after 6pm, and only $13 if you want a cart after 2pm.
$30 a month for the forepass.
My only complaint is that the range has been closed for sometime now, but i think that's due to Covid and staffing handled by the city.
Golfing Lady
The course was in great shape, my only complaint was the slow play of a foursome in front of a threesome and we had to wait on every hole.
Browns Mill
A nice open course. It can be crowded at times, but this morning it was not. Greens in good shape. The greens don’t break much but roll consistently. Nice course for in town.
Browns Mill
In great shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens. Due to being a muni course during covid, their clubhouse is still closed. Driving range closed also. Have to prepay. No cash.
Ok this time around.
Played today and the front nine was being aerated. Played back only. Course was ok.. staff was ok..
Should have known
Had 9 holes closed for maintenance but didn’t let know until getting there. Not good business!!!
GREAT TRACK!
My first time playing this track and I had a blast. Great test for the mid level golfer. Challenging shots on some holes. Greens were the best that I've llayed in the area thus far. Definitely looking forward to playing here again soon.
Long lost friend...
I learned how to play the game at Brown's Mill back in the mid nineties. I hadn't played here in probably 20 years. I don't remember it ever looking this good. The course is in really good shape all around. The championship bermuda greens are rolling true. Tee boxes and fairways looked solid. I paired up with a good group of guys & had a blast. Will definitely be making this a regular stop going forward.
