Browns Mill Golf Course

Great layout and well maintained. Salute to the cart lady JWD!!!

We had time to kill whilst waiting for an evening flight back to the UK. We had called the course who advised that there was no neeed to book a 9 am tee time, but to roll up and play. I am off 13, anf my buddy is off 3. We are both seniors and if we had walked it would have been $16 each, but with a buggy it was $29 each. It was very walkable. The greens were superb. It has a great layout, and the fairways were fine. The pace of play was more than acceptable. As I have said elsewhere, I would happily play this as my home course.

When I hear that a course is a muni, all sorts of images come to mind -- poor conditions, slow play, too many duffers, you fair share of negatives. This course has some of these but some better qualities as well.

As for slow play, yes...at times. I have played the course several times and only about 25% of the time have I been frustrated by slow play. The classic situation is the foursome, all walking, with 2 holes open in front of them, who don;t care and are unwilling to let you play through.

As for conditions, the fairways are spotty in places but the greens are generally in good condition.

High points - you get a good variety of holes and a chance to play well on most with difficulty only on a few.

This may not be on your list of great places to play but for a moderately easy round and an easy tee time to grab, play it.

I play all over Atlanta area. Been playing Browns Mill for 10 years, and its in tip top shape. Best value around. Well maintained , greens roll true, fairways in great condition, bunkers groomed. Heavy rains this summer have definitely helped. Money has been well spent on the course to keep it the best public course you'll find in Atlanta. Carts too. Course leadership is evident in quality of staff, renovations to club house, selective course improvements to fine tune surrounding.

Everything you'd expect from a city run golf course in a wretched part of town. AND More!

Good course. Nothing extravagant but it gets the job done. Greens had sand but I'll take it. They r keeping the course in good condition. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants a good play for a low price.

Fairways needs more attention, especially around the greens and many of the middle fairway. Greens need more attention as well.

This course is in really good shape and is a great value. This place needs a starter and a Marshall. The lack of etiquette on the course was laughable. Ruined the experience for me and my playing partner.

My favorite course!! Wide enough that you can spray it,although it's quite the challenge! The par 4 #3 hole is the toughest of the city municipal courses hands down.

Attempted to play Saturday at 8:30. The starter did not have a t sheet and there was a crowd of people around the first tee. He did not manage the times and despite t-times it was pretty much first come first serve. I teed off 15 minutes late only after i joined up with another group.

The greens were in OK shape, but looked like they hadn't been cut in a couple of weeks.

The first 3 holes took an hour. A marshall came by and I commented on the slow play. His quote "well it's Saturday you know" as if this makes it acceptable. I played the fourth hole then quit.

Really enjoyed the course, despite the previous day's rain.

Who knew working at a golf course was so depressing?? The staff is very unfriendly, and I'm not sure why.

There was a very sick looking stray dog roaming the course, which was a little uncomfortable to see.

All in all, the course is fun to play. The employees need to wake up and realize 'YOU WORK ON A FRIGGIN GOLF COURSE!! SMILE!'

Staff has done a good job with the course overall.

This course has a very friendly layout. Currently some of the fairways are sanded and not in great shape. They need to work on making the tee boxes level as well. Greens are in fair condition. Overall, pretty good value.

the greens need work they are very bumpy and some of the fairways were washed out from the rain so they covered them with sand and dirt

Course was in terrible shape...looks like it was in a flood zone..greens were very bad

Despite being a Tuesday, mid day, the pace of play was terribly slow. The course was by no means packed, but moderately busy. Took 5 hours to play. Waited on every shot as did the 2some in front of us.

Course was extremely muddy but it did rain about 1.5 inches 5 days prior. After it dries out it will be in much better shape. I can only comment on the conditions when we played.

Sand was decent, not great, not bad. The greens rolled pretty well but could've used some blowing off. Carts weren't clean but that didn't really matter to us.

Clubhouse staff was helpful and friendly.
