Be prepared to put on Bumpy Greens

the greens need work they are very bumpy and some of the fairways were washed out from the rain so they covered them with sand and dirt

Pace of play: too slow

Despite being a Tuesday, mid day, the pace of play was terribly slow. The course was by no means packed, but moderately busy. Took 5 hours to play. Waited on every shot as did the 2some in front of us.

Course was extremely muddy but it did rain about 1.5 inches 5 days prior. After it dries out it will be in much better shape. I can only comment on the conditions when we played.

Sand was decent, not great, not bad. The greens rolled pretty well but could've used some blowing off. Carts weren't clean but that didn't really matter to us.

Clubhouse staff was helpful and friendly.

Good value

This was the 3rd time on this track. It was a pretty cool and windy day but with the sun out is was bearable. This course is a pretty good layout and even though the fairways were dormant, and very wet in spots, the course played well. The greens were in good shape and rolled well for the time of year. I have never played this course "in-season", but I would bet when things warm up conditions are pretty good. Excellent value !!

Always fun to play "The Brown"

Great time with friends. Greens rolled true even after the onslaught of rain Atlanta has experienced the last 3 months. Lower part of course a little muddy but so is every course in Atlanta right now. Always a great experience, friendly staff and a fairly challenging course from the tips.

The course was in good shape, only issue, practice range was closed, would have been nice to warm up before play. Temperature was 54 degrees.

Please inform golfnow if the practice is going to be closed

Pleasant surprise.

Wide open well maintained fairways, consistent greens and very well maintained bunkers at a steal of a price. This was my first time playing this track and it won't be my last. Keep up the good work, Browns Mill.

Good condition even after significant rains

We played on the day after Atlanta received steady rain for 3 days prior and the course was in surprisingly good shape. It was cart path only but there were on a couple of spots that required you to take a drop. The greens although slow due to the moisture were in excellent shape

Great Shape

This course was in great shape. Very much improved since the last time I played it a few years ago. Got a great deal on one of the tee time websites so it was very much worth it. I'm not sure I would pay the full course price and consider it a value. I will play here again soon!

Confidence Builder

Course despite high traffic is in great shape. Greens reductions in size requires for a more accurate shot. Not putting on Bermuda greens regularly required a slight adjustment.

Excellent!

My tee time was at 6:30 am and it was a beautiful morning! The greens were in top condition and stayed true for the most part. Fairways were in great shape. with most of these reviews on here, it mentions pace of play being horribly slow and I must say I had no problems with it. Maybe 15-20 over a normal pace for 2 players on a par 72, but if you're worrying about how fast you need to finish you're round, than you're probably missing the point. It is a wonderful course and I highly recommend it! Also got a great deal on golf now so it made it even better.

Well Balanced Course

Course is great for newbies as well as advanced players. Good mixture of challenging holes and open fairways. Only problem with course is certain holes sit in low areas so water tends to collect making the turf very soft. Ball placement is key around this course. Great deal for the price when booked through Golfnow.

Pace of play

Course staff overbooked tee times for Saturday. We played 9 holes in 3 and 1/2 hours. Had to quit before the back 9 so that we didn't die of old age. Would not return.

GA

Golfer beware, unless you like 6 hour round... Staff is very unprofessional/rude and course management is very unresponsive... Take your money to where you will be appreciated.

Walked

Needs Marshalls on the weekend.

Browns Mill is a fun course. I like playing here. Its generally in good shape except for a few holes that don't drain after it rains. It has very decent greens and fairways. My only real gripe is that the pace of play on the weekends can be very slow and there does not seem to be anyone in charge of moving the slower golfers along. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Perhaps during the week is a better play.

Lack of Etiquette

I booked an early tee time, to get out and play, before the weathered warmed. We played behind two ladies, one of which had to use a range finder on every shot, which maid, the round drag on. They also lacked the etiquette, to ask if we wanted to play through. I play this course very seldom, even though the course is only ten minutes away from where I live. I have encountered the lack of basic courtesy a few times, hence my reticence to play the course more often. There also was a lack of a course marshall on duty, that could have expedited said experience.
