Desert Dunes Golf Course

Even though there is usually wind…the greens looked like some type of disease…and no over seed on several fairways…I think the course has lots of potential…maybe sink some money into it and remove some or all of the dead brush around the fairways…1 - 4…bathrooms need lots of work…

No wind and quick pace made for perfect 36 holes today.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly, too bad the Robert Trent Jones layout was not maintained to the level we expected.

The greens were in rough shape and many of the water “hazards” were without water..

We played a nearby course at Desert Princess earlier in the week and the course was in much better shape.

I hope they can resolve their issues as the facility looked tired.

The greens and fairways were in very poor condition.

Fairways are acceptable; bunkers ok. However, greens were loaded with patches of thick poa which made putting not fun.

Loved all the natural habitat and no houses around this course.

The wind was incredible and made the course unplayable. I would only recommend this course on a day when there is no wind.

the course was almost unplayable due to high winds that started after a couple of holes.wind was blowing sideways on certain holes and impossible to keep your ball on the course.Will not play again if any wind before tee off

The conditions if the tee bixes, fairways and greens was poor.

Played here a year ago at Christmas and conditions were great. Not so this year. Most notably, the greens were very splotchy, patchy, bare and bumpy. I was pretty shocked at the adverse conditions. Teeing grounds grass was very long, it just seemed like overall maintenance had gone downhill. In 2 trips around Desert Dunes, I only spied 2 maintenance workers and 1 player assistant. The player assistant suggested that they weren’t spending any $$ on course upkeep. It still is an amazing track, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design, just not maintained at a very high level.

I was trying to change my second round to play elsewhere, but there was nothing available for me other than playing further East in the valley and spending considerably more money so I kept my booking. I moved back a tee deck and actually played better than the first trip around. Golf is funny that way. I hope they figure out a path forward with regard to their maintenance issues. It would be a shame for this property to be forgotten!!
