About
Desert Dunes Golf Course has a unique layout that combines a traditional links design with true desert-style golf. The course winds through natural sand dunes that are accented with mature trees and an abundance of native vegetation. It offers one of the most challenging rounds in the valley with narrow fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and fast, sloped greens. Collection areas and strategically placed bunkers border the greens. The most interesting of these bunkers can be found on the ninth and 18th holes where it sits in the center of the signature double green. There are also water hazards that come into play on several holes. In addition to the challenging round, the golf course offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains as well as the opportunity to play amongst wildlife including rabbits, roadrunners, bobcats, and even the occasional desert kit fox.

Course in bad condition
Pace 5.5 hours to play a round. Course in bad shape.
At First I was nervous
The entrance to the course, had be concerned but once on the course, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was
Fairly dried out on fairways and very dry and brownish on the greens
Good bones, not well dressed
The course layout is excellent, with lots of variety. I have just one quibble - one of the par fours on the back nine has an identical layout to a front nine par four hole.
Conditions are a little sketchy, especially the bunkers, most of which contain very little sand. Most of them are mud traps. Except for a couple of greens that had a few dead spots, the greens were fine.
Overall, the course is playable and enjoyable because of the well designed layout. It’s worthy of the Robert Trent Jones brand.
Dirt track
Old course that's been given up on, sad but common theme amongst the smaller courses in the valley.
No value for the money
Course is in bad shape. No Marshall on course. Slow play.
The course overall was in very good shape except for the bunkers, not much sand and very hard! I was pleasantly surprised after reading reviews the past couple weeks. Light winds also added to a nice day!
Disgraceful check in
Played here the week before. Told the kid in the pro-shop I have 8 playing next week. Asked if he could move us up a 1/2 hour. Said no problem. 8 of us arrive from Indio. They couldn’t move us up and had no reservation for two of our 8.
Greens were challenging especially those greens were the grass had burnt away. Sand traps were mud or clay. Range balls came out of a lake.
No value for the cost
We have played this course before. The value was to expensive for the conditions of the course
The course was in great shape
A very pleasant surprise due to the course entry to the not very appealing.at all. Staff was extremely friendly.
Cart avaio
There were just enough carts for each group so we didn’t get one until 4 minutes before we teed off Had to walk a distance from the driving range and back An extra 10 carts in stock would eliminate that problem
Just pass on this one
Course set up is ok, but the fairways still need a lot of work. Greens were decent and putted fine, but lies in fairways could even be punitive and you were on little or no grass. Cost to play reasonable, but would probably go elsewhere given a choice.
