Desert Dunes Golf Course has a unique layout that combines a traditional links design with true desert-style golf. The course winds through natural sand dunes that are accented with mature trees and an abundance of native vegetation. It offers one of the most challenging rounds in the valley with narrow fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and fast, sloped greens. Collection areas and strategically placed bunkers border the greens. The most interesting of these bunkers can be found on the ninth and 18th holes where it sits in the center of the signature double green. There are also water hazards that come into play on several holes. In addition to the challenging round, the golf course offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains as well as the opportunity to play amongst wildlife including rabbits, roadrunners, bobcats, and even the occasional desert kit fox.

What a Shame..

I found this course the night before on GolfNow and the price should have warned me. The course layout and facility is good but it looks like someone stopped maintaining it about a year ago. Our vehicle was the only one in the lot and we only saw one other golfer. The one staff member we saw was nice but this was like golfing after a Zombie Apocolypse! It felt completely abandoned.

Don’t Go

This course should not be on GolfNow. It should be closed and let sheep start grazing in the fairways. Can’t believe GolfNow would even have it on their list.

Total waste of money.

Deserted in the Desert

Pulled into the parking lot and was wondering why there was just one other car in parking lot, Well after the first hole it all made sense one of the worst courses I’ve ever played on. I was in Palm Springs for the week and played 5 courses not only was this the worst one it was also priced higher. I read some of the reviews before hand and I’m sorry but they must of come from the people that work there because I can’t imagine anyone leaving a descent review.

Not great but a good course. Play was really slow. The foursome in front of me let me go through. After that there was two twosomes in front of me. Later in the round I teamed up with the twosome in front of me. The people in the clubhouse were really nice and helpful.

Good cheap place to play.

I actually went to this course because I wanted a cheap round. If you are looking for a beautiful place when flowers and amenities then don't go to this one. It was very economical and a great place to work on your game. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The fairway's are tight and have an abundance of mesquite bushed so if your ball goes in there you can forget it.

Windy

Windy day in the valley. Very windy day at this golf course. Thought I was out the British Open with extreme conditions. Location of this course just make it susceptible to being very windy

Must be closing

This place had the look of “we’ll be closing within the next year.” Conditions were what you would expect in September, not middle of spring. Got a “deal” for only $65 for 1030 on Sunday and thought it was still way overpriced. Only positive what that we played in under 4 hours, because nobody else was out there

Bad Shape

This is the first time we played this course. The entrance to the club says it all. Run down. The course was about 70% brown from the lack of water. There were holes from underground animals all over the place. The fairways and the greens are in poor condition. This may just be this time of the year or this is another company that may not survive covid.

Desert Dunes

No snack bar…was not greeted at bag drop…had to use my ingenuity to find the driving range…..which was in sad shape….had to use my years of golf experience to find my way around the course. Greens we OK, slow…

Let down

Due to covid we have not being in the desert for 2 years. This was traditionally a classic favorite to play once a week when we are down. No longer the case.

The greens were brown and like putting on plywood. The pin holes were poorly maintained. The golf carts were dirty with holes in the seats. The coolers were cracked and leaked.

I was attacked by fire ants 3 times in the middle of 3 different fairways.

We are sad to say we most likely will jot golf here again unless we hear of major changes.
