Desert Dunes Golf Course has a unique layout that combines a traditional links design with true desert-style golf. The course winds through natural sand dunes that are accented with mature trees and an abundance of native vegetation. It offers one of the most challenging rounds in the valley with narrow fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and fast, sloped greens. Collection areas and strategically placed bunkers border the greens. The most interesting of these bunkers can be found on the ninth and 18th holes where it sits in the center of the signature double green. There are also water hazards that come into play on several holes. In addition to the challenging round, the golf course offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains as well as the opportunity to play amongst wildlife including rabbits, roadrunners, bobcats, and even the occasional desert kit fox.

Maybe better on a weekday?

9am tee time. Very slow. Quit after 11 holes.. No Marshall. 3 groups on every hole. Gave up after 3 hrs on the course. Course is not in great shape but playable.

Bunkers are crap

if you arent going to put sand in the greenside bunkers, rhen mark them as ground under repair. Impossible to hit a grrenside bunker shot off of hardpacked, stone filled dirt.

Ever play a cow pasture?

The fairways' textures were bumpy and rough. Greens were so crusty and irregular in texture that putting was worse than difficult. Plus, the cup on each green was surrounded by a mound - sort of like a gopher hole - to keep even dead-center putts from dropping.

No, I wouldn't play this one again even if it was free.

Desert Dunes

The course was just average for a public course. The challenge is trying to find a public course with a fair price at this time if the year. Nice to play, just do not have too high of expectations.

Nice Layout, But ….

Course needs a lot of work. Shabby at best. Pace of play was very slow, and no Marshall to encourage slower groups to speed up or let others play through. We will not play course again unless conditions there are improved dramatically!

Great views hit course needs work

Loved the views from this course but the course needs quite a bit of upkeep including a good mowing! For the fees they charge, they should reinvest some of it back into the course.
