Desert Dunes Golf Course has a unique layout that combines a traditional links design with true desert-style golf. The course winds through natural sand dunes that are accented with mature trees and an abundance of native vegetation. It offers one of the most challenging rounds in the valley with narrow fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and fast, sloped greens. Collection areas and strategically placed bunkers border the greens. The most interesting of these bunkers can be found on the ninth and 18th holes where it sits in the center of the signature double green. There are also water hazards that come into play on several holes. In addition to the challenging round, the golf course offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains as well as the opportunity to play amongst wildlife including rabbits, roadrunners, bobcats, and even the occasional desert kit fox.

Greens are as hard as a rock

The greens were super hard. Course was In okay condition. It was super windy but nothing the course can do about that. Other than that, staff was super friendly, I just wouldn’t spend $70 for what the greens were.

Besides 30 mph wind, the rough is PGA length and very inconsistent. Tee boxes are ragged and greens have extreme wear , traps are virtually empty of sand, almost all rock

We were playing behind one of the course owners, who made no attempt to allow other through their slow pace of play. . Not a fun experience

Poor conditions

Lost first (and breakfast ball) on hole 1 with decent drives that rolled just off elevated fairway to the right. The rough beneath seemed like it hadn’t been mowed in weeks. Not the best start. Course was wide open until I came upon an older couple that I had to put pressure on for 3 holes before they gave an unhappy ask if I wanted to pass. Lastly, I collect logo pencils from courses I play- theirs are not customized :/ nit picky review, but I expected better

Exceeded expectations

Course condition, although not pristine, was acceptable considering the value. Very nice layout. No homes anywhere on the course was an added benefit. I would definitely play here again.

Ball blew off the green and I bet it’s still rolling

If you want to hit a sawed off pitching wedge 260 yards and your driver 130, this is the place to play. The winds at desert dunes are of a prehistoric nature. The trees that have survived the winds, thus far, are “growing” parallel to the ground in order to salvage any chance at a decent existence. 10 years ago this course was playable, but windy. Today, it’s clear the earth has decided to take back this land and return it to an 18 hole graveyard littered with tumble weeds and triple bogeys. The staffing and amenities have gone down with the ship. desert dunes, I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul. Overall, 5/5 stars.

Good bang for your buck.

Great value if you appreciate playing something a little different in the desert. Some blind shots, quirky holes and great green structures. Just keep it out of the bunkers. Need some TLC to say the least. Bring your buddies and have a mean time.

Nice ..... needs some love

The course is a great layout..... greens are good but the surroundings need some help.

The staff was great.... friendly and accommodating. We played this course few years back and the overall shape was better.

Hope the course shape can return to what it use to be. Overall fun day.

Great and a good challenge

Great course for the price. We got lucky and there was no wind up palm drive so we had a gorgeous round. Challenging bunkers and fairways that make you play more strategic at times, and other times when you can let it rip
