Desert Dunes Golf Course

The course was in excellent condition. The high winds made the front much harder to play. The wind died down on the back and it was much more enjoyable, it was a great layout with reachable par fives and fours in low wind conditions.

We really enjoyed the course. We played the silver tees at 5300 yards, but guess what? The course was still a challenge with plenty of trouble and very difficult greens. I will go back

It needs money spent on maintenance! Greens are brutal! What’s with all the lichen type weeds on the greens??

We arrived for our early afternoon tee time and paid the full rate for the time figuring we had 4 hours to finish only to find out since it was windy all the carts had to be in by 5. I find it unusual that a course built right next to electric windmills closes early due to wind. That means they must close early 80% of the time. Make sure to advertise this to afternoon tee times so we can expect to finish fewer holes than advertised. Course was in OK shape, greens were rough, but what can you expect for the price. All in all a great layout, views are great, but not much direction from shop staff on what to do. Range looked like Tatooine

Where do I start? The greens were absolutely ridiculous uncapped and just not in the type of condition that I would’ve expected for this rating of a golf course.

There was not an ambassador to be found they permitted groups of six to play together which drastically slow down the pace of play. The course was not manicured in the least. The only saving grace was the view of the mountains coupled with the desert feel of the course. I would not recommend this course at the dollar amount that they charged somewhere in the $75 per person range completely not worth it long way to go to get there great course and $29 buyer beware.

I played this course two years ago and really enjoyed it. The course layout takes into account the desert topography. When I played this year, I was very disappointed with the course conditions. The greens were bumpy and brown spots on a number of holes. The fairways and rough didn't look like they had been mowed in some time. On a positive note, the guys who handled carts upon entry and exiting the course did a very good job of welcoming me and others. And the staff in the club house and bar were a positive addition. However, in the end, I was very disappointed in the course conditions. In its present conditions, I would not plan to return nor would I recommend it to another golfer to play this course.

Weather was a Disaster and we quit after 9. However an employee advise us we could get a Rain Check for another day.

The course is not being properly maintained. The greens are in terrible condition with weeds growing on them. Putts didn’t roll, they bounced. Thin grass in many areas. Markers and signage was limited. It is also a course that has a great deal of wind which made conditions even worse. I had played the course about five years ago and it was in much better condition. Sad, because it could be a lovely course. I will not play there in the future.

5 hours to play during the week on a Thursday at 11:30.

Course was playable. Needs a lot of TLC to bring it back to above average public course. Fairways green and a little high. Rough was higher but inconsistent. Greens have been infiltrated with poa and making them bumpy. Speed was good.

No one assisted when we arrived at bag drop. Starter unorganized and didn't keep us spaced so we were waiting all day. Course in ok shape but greens really bumpy so no true roll. Lots of better options out there

Weather conditions were superb and the RYJ layout showed its best.

Traps have been upgraded with more sand..too bad drainage issue not fixed as many are starting to revert already.

Greens in fair condition.
