Desert Dunes Golf Course

The course was in average condition. The greens were patchy but rolled true with decent speed.

My wife and I were looking forward to playing this course as we had played there 5 or 6 years ago and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it is abundantly clear that everything about this course has gone downhill dramatically especially the conditioning! The entrance to the course gives a pretty quick indication of what you are in for. Barely any staff, run-down dirty golf carts, and indifferent starter. The bathrooms were disgustingly filthy. Got paired up with a nice couple but that was the only good part of the day. The course really does have a great layout, but has not been maintained at all. The round also took 5 hours and 45 mins to play.. Avoid this course no matter the price!

Tough looks from tee, Greens very challenging, bunkers awful (little or no sand almost hard pan)

Have been playing this course for 30 years. Very tough opening hole which I never liked. Maybe turning the 9's around would be a good idea. Fantastic layout double green for holes 9 and 18 with trap in the middle. Last year the course was really in bad shape with bunkers pretty much unplayable. We played the course Jan. 21, 2022 and were pleasantly surprised in the much better conditions. I here they got something like 11" of rain this past fall which this course badly needed. Kudos to the owners bringing this terrific layout back to what it once was. Careful to play here on windy days!!

The area where most improvement could be made is the sand in the bunks.

Great course like playing Great shape ruff is tall but fair. Very photogenic. My wife took lots of pictures.

I forgot how windy it is at this course. Too bad!

Nice layout, but no fun when you almost get blown off the tees.

This course is spectacular and super challenging. It has some great bones and a great layout, but needs some TLC as it is a little rough around the edges.

DD is a great layout with no housing development to deal with, a treat in that regard. It’s downfall is course conditions. It is better this year than it was a couple years ago but no where near where it was in the ‘90’s. Patchy mixed grass fairways & greens will take time, effort & money but isn’t awful as is, at least there is grass so it’s better than the Terra Lago’s & Indian Canyon North tracks in the same price range. Un-mown tee boxes & leaking sprinkler heads making mud puddles is either lazy or cheap & is inexcusable in my mind & the bunkers are all unplayable due to water or just crap due to mud. All that said, it’s a RTJ jr design with great challenges & a really good staff to make for a decent day.

Single in front of us was hitting 3 balls which dramatically slowed us down. No marshall to speak with. Course was in tough shape for January - fairways AND greens. I used to play regularly but it appears the owners are just letting the course go....

All staff was A+ as was the food.

Today played this awesome course. It was beautiful. Lost my phone during the round. The staff found it and Got it back to me. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend this course to everyone who enjoys Golf and beautiful views.

Tough old course. Not for mid-high handicaps, I played with a guy who knew the course and it was still a challenge. Apparently when it gets windy it turns into a beast.
