Desert Dunes Golf Course

Nicely maintained links style course with many challenges, especially for first time players unfamiliar with the layout. It’s a great value compared to much pricier courses in the area. Worth it!!

I visit Palm Springs on a regular basis and I always play golf: Never have I experienced a value like I did at Desert Dunes! I played at sunrise by myself, finished in under 2 1/2 hours, and thoroughly enjoyed every shot! As for the course, the greens were pure and the layout was really cool with lots of mature trees lining the fairways and putting an emphasis on position. There were no houses to be seen, which really made it feel like the course was a natural part of the desert. Amazing!

Desert Dunes fairways and greens need a lot of work....remove brush and clean up the greens as grass is spotty.

Great course we lived in the Coachella valley for over 20 years and golfed all over the place including corona, Temecula and never realized what a great course Dunes is! Nicely laid out somewhat challenging pace of play started slow but by the 3rd hole it went smooth.

I would highly recommend the drive from the LA area. Excellent service. The course was great and not as easy as it looks.

We played the Gold tees, which was plenty of course for our group.

After playing many sub par courses in the LA area, We have finally found a great course at an unbelievable value!

The greens were true !!

Fairway in the front were matty and bumpy.

Fun course to play and good value. Lots of varying elevation changes. Staying in the fairway is crucial as anything right or left will leave for either a lost ball or challenging to get out of there. Had a hard time keeping the ball to bite on the greens. Wouldn't want to play it when windy though. 16th hole was my fav, loved the back drop coming into the green and water on right side.

The course conditions have markedly improved. The fairways were nice. Some greens were extremely bumpy due to the poa annua mixing in with the bermuda grass which made putting a guessing game. Most greens were pretty slow.

It was 81 degrees with almost no wind, which makes this track much more playable. The greens were on the quick side and the only negative was that some of the sand traps were light on sand. Great cart girl and saw her 3 times while playing and seemed to be there when we needed her.

It has been a couple of years since I have played here. I am a local resident of the desert and to my dismay, this course has become the epitome of a downhill spiral of decline. The fairways are in terrible shape, green have zero apron, the tee boxes where extremely shaggy, the greens seem to have dead spots all over. The driving desert..I would say range but you are hitting into the desert off spotty turf.

I rather not continue my review as it will not be nice. This used to be such a top notch track and now looks so disheveled , it’s truly sad to see this facility in bad shape. With so much competition in the area, I guess this is a case of not enough interest to keep it going and now just hanging on to what little they can.
