Worst Pace of Play Of All Time
Played on a Sunday in early spring so not sure what I was thinking would happen but this was the single worst pace of play I’ve ever witnessed on a golf course. It took us as a foursome nearly 4 hours to play 9 holes. We gave up after 12 holes because it was so bad. There was no enforcement of pace and clearly a mishandling of staggering tee times. Overall terrible experience.
Poor Course Conditions
This course used to be in good shape in the past, but has deteriorated significantly. The fairways are bad with dirt, greens are inconsistent and tee boxes bald for the most part. The course layout is good and challenging, but not worth playing based on current course conditions!
Very disappointed you couldn’t into the clubhouse/pro shop to go to the restroom or to get any drinks or snacks. This should’ve been communicating on their website. If it was, then I just missed it.
Municipal
The course is fun. On Saturday a little crowded with some 1st time golfers. Groups in front of us were very friendly and we played through.
Always a good round
Greens were in good condition, played in the afternoon so they were really fast. Fairways were in good shape (but I didn't play from them often, lol). Tee boxes were in good condition also. We had an enjoyable round. I would consider this an executive course, after work round with colleagues.
Long time
It's been a long time since I have played this course. Always challenging and enjoyable. Fairways and greens need some work but otherwise would play again.
Pace of Play
The course needs an on course ambassador to maintain pace of play. 9 minute t-time intervals might work if that were the case. Booked 18 and skipped over two groups on the first nine, saw no improvement on the back so left after only playing a total of 7 holes in 1.5+ hours. Was heading toward a 6 hour round. No thanks.
Very surprised for N. Fulton area
No notification that the course was being aerated. Was very difficult to play with the course conditions. So disappointed.
Sunday golfer
Seems they have not maintained course well during Covid. Many fairways especially near greens had poor grass. Could be good course, but not well marked. First time playing there and finding next tee not marked.
Needs a breather
Chastain is a solid local track; however, currently its overplayed. Greens are burned out, course is dusty and dry. Lots of bald spots in the fairway. Give the course a few weeks of reduced play or course closure and it’ll reap rewards into the spring. Otherwise it’ll be a long summer for the course.
