Chastain Park Golf Course

The course is really not too bad, set up fine, some holes make you think about your shot; overall decent for an Atlanta public course. However, there hasn’t been a round I’ve played here less than 5.5 hours. Too many people with walking carts who play incredibly slow, no enforcement of pace, borderline makes you want to quit your round — which I’ve had to do before because I was stacked 3 groups back at the #10 tee. If pace of play improved i would play here a lot more often.

The course had a few wet area areas however overall in good condition. Super busy after a frost delay. Luckily I was paired with some nice people

Had golfers lined up on the back nine 5 carts No way to finish a round with the amount of time left. Just went and played the front nine again and got done. Not managed well enough. Nice people. But I hate to see this on a weekend.

Golf course is in great shape. A lot of the hard pan has been filled with grass all throughout the golf course thanks The mayor. Now, if they can only keep it up

When you take payment for 18 holes - don't call for carts to be returned when there is still daylight. I did not get to complete my round - teed off at 1:03

We have played this course for over 25 years. We know what to expect. It’s a muni course, that’s fun for group of friends who are just trying to enjoy time together over a round of golf. Great layout and decent conditions. Pace of play slow as usual. No big deal. It’s the guy running the pro shop who is a jerk. Scolded us for not returning carts at 5:15; sunset is at 5:50. The ranger told us the carts need to be in at 5:30 and that was our plan. Absolutely mean and jerk. Forced us to take our bags off carts on hole 7. It’s his attitude every time. If you are not happy to work there, please look for another job. Let people who come to the golf course enjoy themselves, and you can be happy somewhere else else. Win win.

Also, no one ever picks up the phone to make reservations. So you are forced to pay golfnow reservation fee when making a tee time.

First time playing this course in 15 years. Greens are in terrible shape, pools of water in various spots made finding my ball difficult at times, tee boxes were beat up and unlevel, and no bathrooms. It was a beautiful day though.

The course is great except for lacking of maintenance in some areas especially in the tee boxes

I’ve played a lot of golf in and around Atlanta for a long time. You cannot beat Chastain for its value. Yeah it’s not in the best shape in general but it’s in amazing shape to be regularly less than $40. I was shocked that it had solid growing grass everywhere. Tee boxes are in the worst shape out of everything. Pace of play sucks bc it doesn’t seem like they care to spread the tee times or anything. I still think you can’t beat it for the price.

Great layout, and for the price you truly cant beat it.
