Emerald Lakes was a victim of a flood in 2016 but quickly recovered and was in great shape for 2017 Photo submitted by u000003849698 on 03/29/2018
Fairway and tee boxes were okay but the greens were terrible!! Bunkers also it seems that they would put on there websites the conditions of the course and give a discount!
I’m not sure what Emerald Lakes you played. The emerald lakes in Elk Grove has some of the best greens and fairways in the Sacramento area.
Not sure what Emerald Lakes course you played, but the EL in Elk Grove, CA has some of the best greens in the Sacramento area, and the bunker sand is always fresh and well groomed.

Fun Course with Challenges
I have played Emerald Lakes numerous times the last several years and previously rated it as Excellent. The course is still in excellent shape with some of the best and most challenging greens in the Sacramento area. Even though the course is relatively short, the narrow fairways, numerous water hazards and well-placed bunkers will challenge your game, The overall value of the course is excellent; however, I lowered my rating for 2 main reasons. 1.A few of the tee boxes need to be leveled as they are crowing and/or slanted, and a few of them are quite rough. 2. All of the green flags are white which makes it difficult to determine if the hole is located in the front, middle or rear of the green. This is the only course in the area without color flags. All in all, Emerald Lakes is a fun ad challenging 9-hole course and a few upgrades would make it even better!

Great short course
This is one of the better short courses that I have played. The course was in excellent condition. The staff is friendly. The pace of play was very good.
If you want to play a quick nine holes, or even go twice around for 18, I would recommend this course.
A bonus plus is that it is close to the Sky River Casino. So play a round and then gamble afterwards.

Well maintained
For a nine hole muni, this course is great. All holes reachable for the average Joe or Jane, but the greens can be oh so cruel. Complaints: 1) The younger starters need better training. I’m often a walk on and they will say no room when it’s obvious there is. 2) Why can’t they get those tee boxes level? 3) Even the most basic bar and grill would be great, and put some product in the pro shop.

Lots of water
This is a 9-hole course with a driving range and chip/putt practice area. There are lots of little ponds all around that can be a magnet for balls. It's fun and quick to play most of the time. Greens are a little slower but kept up pretty nicely.

Great course and fast greens....well maintained.....and at a great price....you can hit off mats or grass on the range.....all around....great facility

Awesome
Went out after work for a quick 9. Super fast greens, great layout, and lots of fun for a cheap price. Will definitely play this course again in the near future. My 11 year old daughter was with us and the staff were very friendly to her and us out on the course. People there were awesome and even picked up a single walker to join our group and was a blast to have play with us. Can’t wait for the next adventure there!

Excellent Shape
The course is in excellent shape, they are doing a very good job on maintenance. Greens were sneaky fast and very well maintained. Highly recommended course for the value.

Great Course/ Prohibitive Cart Fee
The course, range and staff are great. However, their policy of charging for a non-playing rider in the golf cart is unacceptable. This is a public course and that fee is normally limited to private courses or high-end public courses. I will not return until that fee is discontinued.

Emerald Lakes is a gem
Emerald Lakes maybe an executive nine hole course but it has everything a golfer needs for a challenge and the course is always in excellent condition. Best greens in the valley. It is easy to walk but has water on many holes and is challenging. Par 3's are both short and long and the one Par 5 is a narrow hole OB on the left!!.......Always fun to play.
