Long and Wide with Great Greens!
1st time playing Encino and enjoyed the day. Greens were wonderful with good bite. Fairways are forgiving but you need to allow for slice. Will be back soon given the great condition & only 4.5 hour round with a great bunch of players.
Nice greens
Encino is is pretty good shape. The greens were very nice. Fast and true.
Good Course
I live in the Valley and go to many public courses all over LA. This is a good course and kept in good condition. Good variation of Par 4s and 3s.
Guy likes bogarting the mic
It’s a great muni course for the money, pace of play is great, course is in decent shape, great driving range, but the guy in the booth with the microphone kept yelling at people. 4 instances in 10 mine. Maybe he was having an off day or maybe he likes bogarting the mic?
Solid course
Course layout very good. Greens were in good shape, however, there was a lot of leaves and tree materials to putt through. Fairways were wide, dry and had a lot of bare spots. Nice roll on the balls off the tee and approach shots. Fringe around greens was spongy and killed forward roll on chips and approaches.
Pace did not allow us to finish 18 with 4:45 start. Brought carts back at 8:15; played 13 holes, with last hole in semi darkness. Probably, should have teed off earlier or split up foursome if 18 was your goal. We were just enjoying being out in perfect weather.
Conditions were good
I haven’t played here in maybe 5 years and I haven’t seen the conditions this good in a while. It’s always a fun course to play. Good mix of length and challenging par 3’s.

people in front bit slow for this time of the day usually fast-paced.
Encino Golf Course 4-2021
Fairly easy course to play. Wide open fairways and readable greens. Had been warm all week, but that evening the weather was cold and windy. A damp layer of fog came in. No carts were available, had to walk. The pace of play required sitting or standing around waiting for groups ahead of your to complete their play. When they tell you it takes 4-4 1/2 hours to complete a round they are not kidding..
