Greenside rough
I’ve played Encino/Balboa before, in fact about four years ago had my lifetime low scores in each. No major complaints with anything except for the greenside rough being quite deep and having the appearance of not having been cut in a while (uneven thickness and depth). Friendly staff and well run operation. Pace of play at 4:05 on a Friday mid-day was excellent.
Last minute round
Course played fairly quick, grass is real green, easy layout greens rolled well.
Played with a father and son who did cause trouble
I guess I have had a one day for me to be a poor player
Greens are amazing:
Ive played about 5 times, love it more and more each time I play.
Pace Of Play
LA County Region … pace of Play is a Problem .. There outta be a Law Stating NO ONE Over 50 Years old especially Elderly (65 plus ) ALLOWED TO WALK THE COURSE .. GOLF CARTS REQUIRED… PACE OF PLAY A KEY ISSUE .. 12-15 minutes per Hole meaning get to your Ball with a Golf Club or Two In Hand Ready To Hit … Not Twiddling Your Fingers Wondering What To Do.. You Should Also Know Your Length Per Hit .. Instead of waiting around for the Group Ahead of You To Get Off The Hole … par 3’s are the Worse.. Feel Like Caddyshack (Al Czervik Following Judge Snells.. LET GO WHILE WE’RE YOUNG..)
To slow no go
It’s a beautiful day and a beautiful course. But the one thing that always gets me upset and I don’t play as well when golfers are playing so slow that it takes 15 minutes or more for them to play one hole. I I wish there were marshals helping to keep the pace of play.Maybe I would have time to enjoy some of your amenities after a game. But five hours is too long for a game. Older golfers should be respectful of their pace of play
