I love this course but…
The course is good, challenging and fairly long, but the fairways are really bad, like terrible. The bunkers are also not good, mostly dirt and never raked. It’s a great value for the price but I have no idea why they don’t even bother to maintain it, it’s weird there is plenty of money in the budget.
First time playing encino this year
Played it several times in the past
Had one of my better rounds this year 81
so I drive home very happy !
Greens like sponge
Greens were moist, soft like sponges, and hairy shaggy. Just horrible. Too moist and soft that people’s foot prints just make them so jagged and adds a layer of extra bumps that it’s just impossible. And because some greens are more exposed to the sun than others throughout the day, they are all of different speeds and shabbiness, it’s a joke.
They have a roller machine in their maintenance yard, but they never use it. Way to be so typical of LA City to charge people for stuff to get equipment and then not use it so that their employees can milk it by doing the bare minimum and taking home their checks for half the work they should be doing. Absolutely disgraceful. Why are the greens like this at City courses when their County counterparts do a fine job on theirs????
Awful
Should be a federal crime to charge the money they do to play there.
Had fun
What eat some water stairways fast wings are in good condition though
Dried out. Course is dying
Course is dying. They’re not watering it for some reason.
Lots of fairways are starting to go bare, lots of dried caked mud patches again. It was good about a month ago, lots of grass, good thick rough in many areas -
The front 9 is faring worse than the back.
Why are they not watering and maintaining the place. Looks really bad.
Go elsewhere if you can until they get it back. It’s really bad in some spots
The course was in horrible shape
Used to play here once every few weeks around 10 years ago. The course was great for the $ & easy to get a tee time! Now it’s very difficult to get a tee time and I don’t have any idea why! The course is now like like a goat pasture and not watered or taken care of at all! Don’t expect it to be like a country club golf course but it’s like a garbage dump even for a city course!
