Black Creek Golf Club
About
Black Creek Golf Club is an 18-hole, championship course that is conveniently situated less than an hour from Savannah. The course sprawls across acres of rolling countryside, surrounded by nothing but lush meadows and hills, providing the round with peaceful seclusion. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels and the blue tees are enough of a challenge for more advanced players. The front nine has a wide-open links-style layout that provides an interesting contrast to the back nine, which is characterized by tree-lined, narrow fairways. The greens are large and undulating and sometimes framed with strategically placed bunkers. The golf course winds through scenic coastal marshes and wetlands, which come into play on 13 holes. There is even an island green on Black Creek Golf Club's signature hole, the par-3 15th.

Really love this course . I live in thunderbolt and it is well worth the drive. the greens will be getting better it's just that time of year. I'd say conditions are three and a half star now. The staff is very friendly.
Love this course
Have played this course a few times past 3 weeks and it continues to improve. Love the layout and Bogeys grill is awesome with a great staff. Playing again tomorrow. It’s about 20 min from downtown Savannah and worth the ride.
Great course, great value!
You can tell the owners are putting money back into the course and not lining their pockets.
The springtime maintenance has paid off, the course is in great shape.
Cancelled reservation
Cancelled due to weather. Waiting for credit back to my card
Played here many times, love the course but not again until course management gets better
We have played this course many times over the past two years. The course is in excellent shape compared to others locally. Rates are great, staff is very friendly. The current problem is with the pandemic in play and everything else shut down, there are too many players showing up and being allowed on the course. Result, the past two times we have played we got behind a twosome who were slow becasue they were behind a foursome who could barely swing a club, lost lots of balls and held everything else up. We even skipped a couple holes on the back side and tried to tee off on 16 only to be held up again by a twosome who was waiting for a mid fairway twosome who were waiting for a foursome on the green.
Not coming back until this pandemic is over and fewer people are trying to play, or until the course does a better job of tee time and course management. It's just not worth sitting for 15 or 20 minutes on each hole waiting for duffers who can't hit to get off the greens, off the next tee and out of your way.
nice course
the metal things they put in the cups are too high and caused several balls to roll out of the cup. it gets in your head a little knowing they are in there ! the traps were in rough shape but the fairways were in good condition !
Great Day at Black Creek
Course was in overall good shape. Staff always helpful. They need to repair all sand traps, drainage and additional sand. They are doing all other course maintenance.
Nice day, nice course, too many players
Booked a hot deal. Got There at 11 only to find out that they had a large blitz scheduled for 1230. We teed off and by the sixth hole were sitting behind a walking threesome (which should not have been allowed with so many players on the course) and they held us up to no end. We spent the next three holes mostly sitting on the fairways waiting for them to walk, find their lost balls, chip up , and finish the greens. Thought maybe we’d get ahead of them on the 10th hole, no luck we skipped around to 16, played 16 17, 18 ,And went back to play 10, but the blitz had made it around by then and it was just too crowded. We played here several times I really like the course but course management today left a lot to be desired. We did not play 10 through 15 because it was too crowded. Disappointed in such poor course management this time.
Great value/price
Had a great time golfing. The course was in very good shape considering the amount of rain recently. Felt a little rushed at times but still a great value for the price!! Would recommend and will be back!!!
Casual water
Great course but unfortunately a lot mud and casual water on the back 9.
It is a lot of fun to play.
Don’t mow for a month
I’ve played this course in the fall and it’s not bad, early spring not bad but today it was a bear to play and I watched other groups as we waited in several spots so it wasn’t just us. Over the last month I’ve played two courses in Bluffton SC, Crosswinds par 3 last weekend and today my son in law and I played black creek.
The reason I brought up playing the last three courses this morning is because of fairway and green conditions, at all three when the ball landed the grass was tall enough that you had a good lie to play off of. Today at black creek through the whole course is was like playing on a parking lot.
Sure you got good ball roll, but trying to play your next fairway shot was really rough. My suggestion is let the grass grow a quarter inch to a half inch thick, that way you can actually get under the ball. The greens also VERY short and crazy fast, good luck getting a chip to stick no matter how good the chip was that ball just kept rolling and rolling. I watched several groups struggle trying to land normally easy pitch shots, many were adding two to three extra shots per hole because the ball would just roll right off the other side.
With summer coming and hot humid temperatures and lack or rain it’s only going to get faster. I’ll come back in the fall hopefully it won’t be so fast it’s almost unplayable.
Good course though but comparing to other area courses at this time of year just cut the mowing back some leave us some lies.
Greens are nice and fast
Considering this course was completely under water about a month ago it's in excellent condition.
Greens are nice and fast, fairways are coming in, and you can see multiple places the staff has placed sod to fill in areas damaged by the flooding.
Nice day and a good round
Course is in good shape in spite of all the rain over the past month. Everything was well mowed. Staff friendly. Not many players out because of the virus, but a nice sunny day and fun round.
Great Value
The greens are in great condition. Some of the tee boxes are looking thin and unkept but overall the course is in good shape. I love the layout. It is not a cookie cutter course.
