About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

Enjoyed the round!
Overall was a great day on the links, pace was excellent ~4hrs, staff was awesome as usual & the course was in decent shape. Couple of opportunity areas -- par 3 tee boxes are a bit chewed up with limited grass & bunkers are in need of reconstruction as they are showing the tarps. Finally, greens were good but still showing some signs of the aeration from last month.

Golf course was very nice bunkers could use some sand. Lot of liners showing. Club house was very nice. Love the layout of the course very challenging. Cons the GM of the place a a rude short guy. Very expensive rate for recently punched greens.

Challenging layout but not impressed
Greens still recovering from aeration, tee boxes in disrepair w lots of bare spots, w 15th hole tee box home party next to it was disruptive and uncomfortable to say the least, loud music and confrontational environment. Not impressed at all for the price paid

Party at a home sitring on the 15th tee box was very uncomfortable to have stop at, very disappointing
Good shape
The course is in good shape but wait another two weeks to play. The greens still have big holes with lots of sand on them from aeration.
Greens were probably punched a couple of weeks ago so they were a little bumpy and slow. Other than that the course was in great shap especially the sand traps.

Everything is always great there. The only thing keeping them from getting 5 stars on everything is the fact that the greens have been aerated recently and have yet to recover. They absolutely warned us in advance of booking the round, and I'm sure it needed to be done. Always a pleasure to play there!
