About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Excellent and challenging course
I really enjoy this course. I always get paired with the most enjoyable players. Course is in great condition.
Nice greens
A little slow pace, but overall not too bad. Condition of greens made up for the slower pace.

Good course overall. Tee boxes can use a little love.
Excellent fairways and greens
Greens are excellent. Very true. If you hit your line at the right pace, it will drop. Also soft enough to hold your approach. The course itself is really nice. Fairways, greens and bunkers. The cart paths are aging and need repair in several spots. Some areas of dry, packed dirt, typically where carts are entering and exiting the path.
Nice course, poor experience
First off, I'm not the type to post reviews unless something significant forces me to, whether it be really good or really bad.
The course itself was in good condition, the staff working the dining area and pro shop were also nice. What made this experience horrible was the ranger, the pace of play, and also some of the rudest e pereiences ive ever had with 2 of the residents living along the holes. I'll leave it at that

I like this course and the layout. Greens a little sandy and bumpy still and fairways are low cut but overall a good course. The cart paths can be rough and food is pricey.
OK, but !
Course aerated 2 weeks ago and greens still bumpy. Not a fan of the difficult pin placements on the green edges with the aerated greens.

I like this course layout, greens were still a little bumpy and Sandy from aeration look for ward to playing when greens are in shape. Two negatives would be the cart paths are rough and the prices of food inside are steep.
Solid course in good shape
Only played 9 but thought it was in solid shape and fun layout. Main issue was it was super slow with a super slow twosome in front and marshal never said anything to them. They slowed down 4 twosomes behind and was quite frustrating.
Beside that., extremely friendly staff and would play again

Spend it somewhere else
This course is rough, and not because its hard. Carts dont have GPS, or coolers. For 70 a dollar tee time, i got beer in a plastic bag with ice. Didn't provide a map and no hole layout at the tee boxes. Cart paths are destroyed, greens are riddled with divots and bare spots, the fairways are has hard as concrete. The residence that live along the course are horrible. Homeowners blowing leaves 10ft from the tee boxes having zero consideration, another homeowner with 10 dogs in the backyard barking like crazy, and the homeowner screams obscene language on a backswing. For the money, this is the worst golf course in North Georgia.

This review has a few semi valid points.
That said, if barking dogs and blowing leaves bothers you maybe tennis is your game.
I played last week and the course is in the best shape I've seen it in at least 10 years, maybe longer.
