About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

Challenging course
Beautiful but little challenging course I’ve enjoyed with my relatives on Christmas Eve. Thanks
Solid course with some weaknesses
Greens are excellent and clearly better on the chateau course but the practice green was way faster than the course. Some fairways suffering from lack of rain. Bunkers were nice
The course has many tight and then open holes off the tee but there are many creeks running through the course which offer a challenge and is a second shot course.
Holes 6 - 8- 9 -10 - 16 are pretty average.. Best holes are 2, 3- 11-12-13-14 -17..
Love the food at the clubhouse again..
Really played slow- no marshalls ruined it
imagine being on a par 4 approx. 380 yards. There's a 4-some on the green. A 3-some in the middle of the fair. my two-some on the Tee box and a group waiting behind us. We teed off at 8:30am and it quickly became apparent it was going to be like this all day. no one was ahead of the 4-some on the green and they played really slow. The 3-some behind them eventually became 1 as 2 of their group quit and had enough. It would stack up like this on just about every hole and the 4some group certainly had to be aware and yet would not let anyone play through nor speed up themselves. very frustrating especially paying a premium so you wouldnt have conditions like that ruin it for everyone.
Cancellation without notice
Drove 1 hr to play but they just canceled my reservation without any notice. They are saying ‘sorry we canceled it as we have a tournament. GolfNow will refund accordingly.’ Never seen this poorly managing customer service and not sure how I can get compensated by wasting my holiday and time for golf I planned for visitors from foreign countries!

Very good resort course
Played the Chateau Elan resort course yesterday. It was in good shape overall but unfortunately the greens had been sanded the day before and we weren’t aware. Wish we had known.

SENIORS GROUP CUMMING PANTER
ONLY ISSUE WAS SAND BUNKERS NOT GOOD
EVEN THE MATERIAL WAS OUT IN SOME BUNKERS
GPS REAL BAD IT LOCKED UP WHEN WE WAS ON HOLE 14 BOTH CARTS AS WE WAS ON THE CART PATH WE HAD TO BACK UP ON THE CART PATH 15 FEET TURN OFF CART AND START FOWARD AGAIN THIS HAPPENED WHILE ON CART PATH TWICE TO BOTH CARTS

Overall course conditions were okay, greens were extremely slow and inconsistent. Pace of play was slow and there was no marshall on the course. The temperature was 90+ degrees and there was no sign of a beverage cart the entire round. The rates at CE has increased but the level of service has decreased.
