About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

A Little Disjointed
Played this course due to limited availability elsewhere and was pretty frustrated. It was difficult to determine the colors of the T-Boxes, which direction to the next hole, and locate the greens. Greens were pretty beat-up and dried out too. Lots of better options in the area.

Bumpy, furry greens; Tee boxes were practically bunkers
Price: $135/golfer
Staff: No bag drop. No one working carts. A player in the group rented clubs. The attendee in the pro shop expected him to lug the clubs all the way back to her to get his credit card back. This made no sense she could speak to the staff that was cleaning the cart. Staff cleaning the cart, who should have been aware of this practice, didn’t offer to tote them up the two flights of stairs. They had one cart girl working two courses. We saw her on hole two and never again.
Course: Attendee had not gotten to the range to establish where players should hit from so mid warmup he started moving people up which created chaos as players were at risk of being hit by shots.
The tee boxes were soggy sand the whole day.
The greens were extremely bumpy and furry. At that price point you would think they would be true. I recognize you have to perform maintenance on a course but that should be reflected in the price and disclaimer when booking.
Merchandise: The logo looks like the CEO or Owner let his 6th grade child play with clip art. As bad as that is the clothing that they chose to put it own was even worse. Shark brand?!?

Very poor green conditions
Greens had been recently aired but not been made aware of this issue before booking. No reference on web site or by staff at chateau.

Not worth the money right now. Infuriatingly slow and aerated. Rest of course is in good shape

Bumpy Greens
Greens had just been aerated, so putting was anybody's guess. Wish the GN app would have shown that, I would have played elsewhere. The layout of the course is one of the best in the area, well kept and very scenic. Will definitely go back once the greens are back to normal.

Fabulous Morning on the Chateau Course
Even though the greens had been aerated this was an amazing experience for me. I made some shots I’ve been working on for the first time and managed my way around the course with ease! I was appreciative of the special rates for the day!

Great course
Course was in exceptional condition. Apart from some rain showers the first few holes it was a great day (although scores didn’t reflect it).
Went out as first group as a twosome, and completed 18 holes in 3 hours.
Staff is very friendly as well

Nice layout. Tee boxes in bad condition. Need to let the grass grow on greens and fairways. Mowed to low.
