Chateau Elan Golf Club - Executive Par-3 Course

I chose to play here for my first "on course" experience after a long layoff due to an injury.

Reading the description of the course, I expected a bigger mix of 'short and long". Really there were very short (under100 yd) and short(100-130) yds with the exception of the 9th hold which requires a 160 carry over water to a landing are that was a very small green with woods and weeds all around.

Service at Chateau Elan is alway good. The gentleman maning the pro shop was helpful with directions and the practice areas and grill are excellent, but the par 3 is at another entrance so you drive back to it.

Conditions were poor for how lavish it’s marketed. Whole different area then regular golf courses.

We had several levels of golf ability so our day was meant to be fun and relaxing, not competitive. For that it was perfect. The course is beautiful. Has some great water obstacles. It’s a walking course so we have our pushcarts was great. There was not a bathroom close by so prepare for that :-) I believe you can get to one up in the main château, but we did not go there.

We will definitely be going again

Perfect for short game and it’s a great experience.

Not perfect for play, but good to practice.

I will revisit there.

There were no scorecards, no starter no carts leaves everywhere including on greens I paid for a cart with my booking none available

Doesn’t seem like they care for the conditions on the par 3 course like they used to.

No amenities available on the par 3.

Course heavily covered in leaves on some holes. Bunkers not raked, and tee boxes were rough.

Staff at the clubhouse are great.would be nice to come directly to the par 3 course without having to go the 18 hole courses clubhouse first.

The only thing I didn't like was the players following me were playing hard and I felt pressured.

The course it’s pretty peaceful to play at and the cost is very reasonable. However it needs a little TLC. The greens have too much sand, some of the sand bunkers have been abandoned and the path around the 9th hole and back to the parking needs to be paved. Oh btw go early there’s only parking for just a few cars. Parking needs more spaces.

Many golfers sneek onto the course from the hotel parking lots without paying.

Unfortunately players do not repair their ball marks on the greens.

A few signs reminding golfers of their responsibilities and instructions on how to pay and check in might help.

Buckets of sand on the tee boxes would allow players to repair their divots.
