Chateau Elan Golf Club - Woodlands Course
About
Chateau Elan boasts three public courses, two championship courses and a nine-hole course, as well as a private golf club, The Legends. The Woodlands Course is one of the public courses. It is considered the most scenic of the three championship layouts with stunning views of the north Georgia foothills and a landscape of sparkling lakes and towering trees. Of the two public championship golf courses, the Woodlands is considered to be slightly more challenging thanks to several tree-lined holes that require a fair amount of accuracy. The rolling terrain provides plenty of elevation changes, so be prepared for some tricky blind shots. The lakes and ponds dotting the course come into play on several holes as well. Although it enjoys a beautiful mountain setting, Chateau Elan is conveniently only 40 minutes from Atlanta.

Perfect Course with Imperfect Pace of Play
Ranger needs to be available all the time. It’s stressful to play 5 hours as a pair. Just utter disrespect from young boys. Please reinforce etiquette
Terrible Service
We had an afternoon tee time on July 4th and as soon as we got there it started off on the wrong foot. The guy working the pro shop desk was very rude about getting us paid and signed in. He forced us to walk back out to the front of the clubhouse to tell him the golf cart number we were in. When we told him the cart number, he told us we were wrong and to go check again. Went back out and checked again and yet the number on the cart did not change from the time we walked in the pro shop. Very bad customer service. He then proceeded to tell us that we would have beverage cart throughout the round and water coolers on the course. The beverage cart did not come through a single time in the four hour round, mind you it was over 90 degrees during the round and the course does not take you back to the clubhouse at the turn.
The course was in great shape but the groups in front of us were playing very slowly as well as no one repaired any ball marks. Our group had to repair several greens in order to make a putt. Also, the golf carts have GPS that prevents you from driving in restricted areas, but would stop the cart several times through the round when we were on the cart path.
Great day of golf
Chateau elan does things right. From the counter staff the golf cart attendants to the starter to the beverage cart person and the waitstaff at the restaurant in the club house it was awesome. All were great. I think a great value for 78 bucks the day before this nation Independence Day. I felt appreciated. I only wish they have a veteran military retiree discount. But I am not complaining. After the match the wings and Tito’s and cranberry were awesome. Bout a new golf shirt and pool
Mug were a little pricey but nice. Will do it again as soon as possible
One of the best!
Beautifully maintained. Excellent fairways, long holes and very well maintained greens..
Excellent Management. Very welcoming and
Greens Smooth Pace Just Sad
Ladies and Gentlemen, if we have to play double for 5 hours, that’s just sad. Folks hitting 6 balls, taking 3 minutes to read a putt, no course Marshall in sight. Such a beautiful course and greens rolling so true but taking forever to play, can’t keep in rhythm. Saw lots of disgruntled folks leaving the golf course before completing the round. It’s Monday yes but someone needs to “police” pace of play. It’s just disappointing
Marshalls
Can we have course Marshall’s make rounds even during twilight, it’s criminal how slow people are playing to not finish a round even after more daylight hours. Just disappointing
Not a great value
I don’t normally write reviews, but thought it was worth noting a few things. I live 1/2 mile from these courses, but choose to drive 20-30 min to other course that offer a better value and are just as nice. I play a lot of golf, exclusively book thru Golfnow and consistently 2 out 3 times I play here, there is something wrong. Yesterday, range was closed, round was $50 for the last tee time where you might still get 18 holes in. Other courses max out at $50-60 for even prime tee times. Chateau is charging $100+ at peak times, which is crazy. Range balls are $8-9 a bucket when the range is open and food and beer at the golf grill is not cheap $7 for a 12oz can of beer. This overpricing is consistent across the resort property as well. I don’t think I’ll be back for a while.
