Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Royal/Indian
About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
You might become enraptured with Indian Palms' past. But the course itself has very much moved into the 21st century.
Each of the nines carries its own personality. The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes. The Royal nine features water on eight of its holes. (Yes, your break from water is one hole total).

Mountain / Royal
Worst golf experience in the Coachella Valley in many years. Staff was unpleasant at best. Equipment was very poor. Went thru 4 golf carts in 18 holes and pushed power cart for at least 3 holes trying to finish. Staff seemed to feel we were a burden.
Tee boxes had not been cut for several days - maybe longer. Greens badly marked up.
Clearly end of season and they really didn't want anyone who cared about the golf experience.
Will make sure I never return and will advise anyone I know to avoid the facility.
GOFNOW should not be involved with these people - they are an embarrassment.
You get what you pay for.
27 hole track. 2/3 nines in reasonable shape. 1/3 nines have been seemingly abandoned from care and attention and clearly used to entice Golfers looking for value. Play elsewhere.
Bang for the money
Greens are excellent and overall condition was great.
Just Terrible
Course is totally unkept. No distinction between fairway and rough. Lost balls hitting straight down the fairway as the grass had not been cut for a long time.
Golf cart made an annoying high pitched buzzing noise. Could not get it to stop. Asked for different cart after 3 holes. Cart never came. Noise got worse. Took cart in after 9 holes. Refused to give us a different cart.
Very bad experience. Was not enjoyable at all.
Will not be returning. Don't waste your money. Lots of other good courses to play!
Awesome day with my 2 uncles
$27 per round!! This is prime season here. Cannot play
95 percent of the courses for under $100. Thank you TEEOFF, We had a great time.
Great course
You get to actually drive the ball worth the $$ holes ranging from 350 to 500 friends & I have lots of fun I recommend this course to anyone
Good trek, very reasonable
Good conditions throughout most of the course. Bunkers could use some sand and attention. 3 nines to play so pace of play good. Great course starters and pace of play monitored.
Run-down
We have played Indian Palms yearly when visiting the desert. We were saddened to see how neglected it was. The carts had to be changed at the turn because the batteries wouldn’t last. The Royal 9-holes was particularly bad. Sorry to see this nice course in such sorry shape.
The Royal 9 was in pretty bad shape. Dried out, fairways infested with something. Greens were fast and smooth. Indian 9 was better but not great. Had to change carts twice for dead batteries which they warned us might happen. Definitely not worth the money.
