Cherokee Run Golf Club
About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

Great challenging course.
Played this for the first time earlier this week. It was better than expected. Staff is very friendly and nice which is kind of rare these days. Course is definitely a bit hard but is beautiful. Fairways are near perfect conditions and the greens are very good. Also saw tons of wildlife which was great. 9/10 for sure for me. I’ll be back.
Gem
Cherokee is a beautiful course. Challenging for sure and very enjoyable
Great course
Everything from layout to greens are perfect. A great value.
Great course but needs some improvements.
This is a great course and the upgrades they have done are awesome but the pace of play was abysmal and it seemed there were no marshals enforcing it. The group in front of us were almost an hour behind pace and not a single Marshall came to speed them up. Course conditions were great but the tee boxes need some work. Will definitely play again but they need fix those few things to make the $70 worth every cent.
Always love and hate this course
Cherokee Run is one of my nemesis courses. Arnie built a ball buster course. Bring your A game when you come here or it will leave you crying….lol.
Everything about this course is in great shape and well worth a visit.
I look forward to returning soon. Keep up the good work in making this a real gem and Arnie happy.
Little disappointing so far
Always like the layout..
Tees can be bare in places
They put sand in some of the bunkers but it appears they have put way too much sand in the bunkers and they are terrible..
Greens have many bare spots and seem to be struggling...
It is a fun course to play but hope it gets better
Not worth the money
Four a little under $100 I regret booking this course. The greens were in terrible shape. It’s almost like they were diseased. It’s been a couple of years since I played here last but last time I played here it was in great condition. Not sure what happened guys but let’s get this fixed if we’re going to charge so much for a round
Wet Arnold
Lots of water on the course from the previous day’s rain (1.5 inches). Pace of play was excellent (Tuesday morning). Staff was friendly and running on time. Course plays as a shot making Palmer layout that forces a lot of shots less than driver from the tee. About half of the tee boxes have agronomy challenges. Fairways and greens are in pretty good shape overall.
