Great Layout
Really enjoyed tee to green. Course or GolfNow should inform players that greens are sanded prior to booking.
Layout is really fun.
Awesome course. Only one problem
I loved everything about this course. The only thing I disliked is the fact that I could not load it on my SkyCaddkie. It is the only one in the area that was not found.
Old carts/greens sanded too frequently
The seats on eery cart are ripped and torn. Watch out for scrapes or cuts if wearing shorts! The greens get sanded every week....seems excessive. Sewage issues just outside cart barn have existed for years, smell is awful.
Great value for the money
Everything was good pace of play, and staff.
Course could use a little work cart paths, bunkers and some tee boxes.
Option at the club house arent great.
Greens are fast and the fairways are average.
Need sand put in the bunkers.
Fun Track
The Oaks Course is quite nice with a friendly mix of country club and municipal feel. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Hole shape, more than length and elevation, provided the challenges with a couple of holes protected by water. My initial impressions of a tight driving course were incorrect. Most landing areas are in the average range. Some care is required on the greens as the speed is above average with some gentle contours. Conditioning of the fairways and rough could be a bit better, but are quite playable. The Oaks Course is worth at least one round and recommended. My 3.5-star rating rounded up to 4-stars. Enjoyment factors more than the course/facility quality biased the rating up. Note: I rate golf courses on an absolute scale using the following guidelines:
5 stars - Top tier golf course, all amenities, outstanding service/management and excellent course maintenance.
4 stars - Good to great course layout, complete club experience (full practice facilities, locker room, grill, etc...), efficient service/management, very good course maintenance.
3 stars - Good course layout, average practice facilities, average service/management, average course maintenance. No pace of play problems.
2 stars - Nothing special, but an enjoyable course to play. Only minor issues with pace of play.
1 star - Not worth the effort or serious pace of play issues. I take pace of play very seriously.
A 5-hour round is a minimum two-star reduction.
must play course
played this course often over the years and it is always in great shape. love the layout.
Great greens and staff
First time playing The Oaks. Great value for $30. Greens are very smooth, consistent speeds and are more interesting than they appear at first glance. Tees and fairways could use some work, but its early in the season. Only hole I didn't care for was the opening hole. Several testing doglegs and a number of pop-up greens require precise shots.
Can't say enough about the staff, both the professional staff and the maintenance team.
One of the better values and courses around for the public.
Course
Love the course but the wind was blowing 15-20 mph and made for a every challengingly day. I will be back on a calmer day.
great value for the price!!!
Fantastic......... describes Saturday 18 experience.....The pro shop from phone to completion worked our guys in for tee times... spoke with integrity and really made the day great for us.............the course played well (I didn't).........Pace of play was great.........this course does an exceptional job in maintaining playable conditions..........thanks for hosting us!!!!!.............A great value for the $$$$
Winter play at great course
Great shape for February. Greens are great. Tight lies to be expected. Can't wait till spring.
Always solid
The Oaks is always a great place to play. Good value, good pace of play and greens are always in good shape.
Great Course
this course was nice. my only complaint was the fairways were dry. ground was hard, often club would bounce off hard ground making the ball do crazy stuff. green are nice good speed.
Fun course
This course is moderate to easy. It provides ample room for tee shots, few green side bunkers and average to large greens. The greens are in good shape and at moderate speeds (9.5).
Greens roll true
Greens in good shape considering our lake of rain. Had a good time.
