Course is challenging from the tips.
The course is always maintained and stays in good shape. It is much more difficult from the back tees! I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
I'll play it again....
Greens were little slow probably due to all the rain we were getting, I will try again on a dry day.
Decent value for the cost. Good shape.
I found this course pretty challenging due to the tight fairways. There were a couple of longer par 5's as well. It is a shot-maker's course with high risk-reward, with several greens that you don't dare go long. I wasn't in love with the layout, but it IS a nice course.
staff not friendly
That day was rainy & foggy. The field was wet and a little slippery. The whole course was cart-path only.Of course took more play time. After finishing the fifth hole, The Marshall came to to us and complained us playing slow. It was rude asking us skiing playing that hole. That was one of the worst experience ln my golf career.
Greens very nice
Super staff. Pace of play was good for a weekend. Very well maintained course. Fairways greens traps were all very nicely taken care of.
Over booked....
Played on a Saturday and it was packed. The round took 5.5 hours. Other than that it was a great experience.
In good shape
Nice course played in spotty weather rained off and on. Course is in good shape. The greens have almost fully recovered from a recent aeration. They are rolling nice.
Not Up to Typical Standards
The Trophy Club of Apalachee generally has good quality greens and is well maintained. The greens are not in good condition and its seems likely that they will lose one or more of the greens this year. The course is very hard (ground) in some locations and it seems that some work is going into longer term improvements and no into maintaining day-to-day play condition. Still worth playing at the right price (<$40.00), but not on par with some recent seasons.
Challenging layout. Front appears tighter than the back. Type of club it is advantageous to have played once or more.
Greens are in excellent shape. A number of challenging par 4s and par 3s. A variety of features. Some tee boxes in need of attention and erosion and thin areas in places. Very undulating in some places. Greens are fair and not excessively tricked up - huge ridges, multi-levels and strange shapes. Par 3s from gold are longer than average. At least 2 of the par 5s are accessible in 2.
Great pace of play, fun and challenging course
The course isn't particularly long, but it is well bunkered and puts a premium on accuracy. The greens had been aerated earlier in the week, but closed in nicely and rolled well. In fact I had my best putting round ever there. Pace of play was impressive - 3 hours 15 minutes on a Saturday morning. I plan to return.
Overall, great course, will play again.
Front 9 tough and eases off to a little more friendly on the back 9. Challenging but satisfying at the same time.
Beautiful scenery
Wanted to take the groom to play on his wedding day. Made the right choice by coming here but got backed up on the front and almost didn't make the wedding in time.
Course is long and provides a true test of golf skills.
The course played long, but fair. The staff was excellent. One of our foursome was late and the staff promptly brought him to the hole we were playing. The marshall went back four holes to retrive a lost pitching wedge for us. Playing this track was a positive experience.
For the 25 I paid for Saturday afternoon round it is a great value.
I enjoy the course. It is a par 71 with 5 par 3s. I have played most of the course in the area and Trophy Club is adequately maintained. This time of the year it is green and the putting surfaces are smooth and fast. Sometimes it gets a lot of traffic and the casual players don't fix their ball marks. Certainly not the best layout but a very good value.
After the rains ....
After all the rain we had the course is in good condition. Greens were rolling smooth and fairly quick. Fairways in good condition. Pace of play was good but can often become very slow from mid afternoon on. All in all good course to play.
Great course for the $
When we arrived the members were about to have a tournament so the let us start on the back nine. Saved a lot of time I would recommend
Course was maintained and greens and tee boxes were in very nice condition.
While the greens were in excellent condition and rolled nicely they were as hard as rock. When hitting a wedge onto the green the first bounce was 4-5 feet in the air and it was almost impossible to get anything to hold. This was really the only negative but it was major and made for an poor experience at this time.
The golf course is in fantastic shape...
The greens are the best I have ever played @ Trophy Club of Apalachee
The best greens I've played all year! A really fun test of golf.
Rolling hills with elevated tees and greens, tree lined holes, tightly cut fairways, modest rough, well placed bunkers, a few hazards and the best greens I've played all year made for a very enjoyable golfing experience. The course is challenging but is not brutally long, has a few tees from which to choose that make a real difference in the way the course plays, and a fair minded design that lends itself to many different styles of play. Add the clubhouse with proshop, putting green and practice range and Trophy Club of Apalachee is the complete package. This is a course I plan to play many more times.
The course is in great shape
Played Apalachee (in light rain and wind) on 5/3/2013 and had an enjoyable round. The greens were in excellent condition, and the fairways were quite good, too. The course is a fair test of strategy and shotmaking, with a good mix of short/long, easy/hard par 4s.
My buddy and I played at the "hot deal" price (the course is a steal for that amount), but the rack rates are a tad on the expensive side.
To make a short story even shorter, I would definitely play there again.
