Turkey Creek Golf Club

About
Turkey Creek Golf Club in Lincoln sprawls across rolling hills that are covered with mature oak forests. The back nine even closely resembles Germany's Black Forest. The centerpiece of the course is the old granite quarry that was transformed into an expansive lake that comes into play on the third and final holes. The golf course is formidable, testing golfers with blind shots and uneven lies, but the challenges are nicely balanced by long, open fairways. Water comes into play several times throughout as well as the towering trees that blanket the landscape. The course will keep golfers on their toes but there is plenty of visual respite available. Players can often catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife that call Turkey Creek Golf Club home, including deer, quail, foxes, and of course, wild turkeys.

18th tee box, with a few elevation changes and water on the left. If you feel confident, slug it off to the left and clear the water, putting you in a great position for a second shot to the green Photo submitted by copz1998 on 07/20/2018

Course Conditions
We have had unprecedented heat in our area for the last two weeks. The fairways were soggy at best description, also the fairways didn’t look like they had been cut in four or five days. The greens we absolutely atrocious, I’m not sure if it is just a bunch which means (WAY TO MANY GOLFERS) not fixing their divots o no the greens!!! The greens pretty much resembled a worn out dart board that really needs to be replaced. Maybe the people in the pro shop at check in should be reminding every golfer to fix their ball make plus one on every green, also maybe give out divot repair tools to those who need them.
This was my first time golfing here in over a year because of the condition of all of the greens, but now I would have a hard time giving any more than a 1 out of 10 rating for these greens. Don’t waste your money here until they are able to get and keeps the greens I. Better shape!!! I haven’t gone back and looked at my scorecard, but I know I lost at least five strokes because of my ball bouncing off line because of all of the ball marks.
Golf course review
Course was in great shape fairways excellent Greens were fast and slow soft greens. Just a little drive but worth the money. Just was too slow of play 3 hrs before we made the back nine. Super Hot and no cart person to buy drinks or snacks. Will need to come back and play when weather is cooler Overall good course and tough layout. And yes some holes hard to find need more signage for direction where you are on the course. Simple things that could possibly improve pace of play !!
Love this course
The course was in great condition. The greens were very fast.
Not easy
I think the biggest issue with my game is how tired I was after a long weekend for me. Course was overall pretty nice. Cliff bars and a couple of gatorades were way overpriced. Some holes had big clumps of grass on the fairways, but that didn’t affect our play at all. Being my first time there, a few holes were a little intimidating with the water hazards you have to carry, but they wouldn’t have been a problem if I wasn’t having an off day. Greens were super fast when we played except for one or two that rolled a little slow. The slopes on the greens were incredibly hard to read though. I read most of the breaks the exact opposite of what they were. I’d play it again but make sure I am well rested first.
Golf Cart Upgrade
It would be nice if the carts had GPS in them so we could easily get the distance to the hole. Also, ice chests would be great on hot days like yesterday. I can put a tiwel in there to cool off between holes.
Slow greens and ridiculously expensive food/drink.
I’ve played quite a bit of golf at Turkey, and it’s definitely one of my favorite tracks in the greater Sacramento area. Great layout, challenging. It’s walkable for sure, but an above average haul. Yesterday, the greens looked gorgeous but were rolling way too slow. The real issue is the unapologetic ripoff for food and drink. I’m accurately aware of inflation, cost of help and food and drink pricing, I live in that industry and know the 411. But, $42 for a tuna sandwich, beer and shot. Including involuntary $4 service charge with a tip line still left blank. That’s just plain stupid.
Lots of fun!
Great course, seems like it will only get better as there are new houses being built along the course. Lots of cool boulders guarding the greens. Great finishing hole too. Highly recommended
Always a solid choice
Always a solid choice for the golfer looking for a well-designed and maintained course which offers challenging holes winding thru a tree-lined venue.
The only word of caution is pace of play at Turkey can be, at times, slower than usual...
Cheers
Boulders!
Excellent greens, a lot of huge boulders all around. Nice driving range and a beautiful practice putting green too. I enjoyed my round very much.
Awesome course
This course is one of my favorites. Well maintained and challenging!
We will be back!
Great course, well taken care of. Did lose a few balls but after running into a nice ralttlesnake we didn’t have the courage to search for any!
